crazy christmas trees
3 Attachment(s)
When my sewing group (up to 9 folks now!) meets, everyone usually brings different projects, but last month, we decided to take one day and all work on the same thing. We did this Crazy Christmas Tree pattern. I had so much fun doing mine that day that I did two more; they will be Christmas gifts for my sisters-in-law/brothers. I think they are a hoot!

Those are adorable, I understand how they can become addictive. Your quilting is simply amazing.
How cute! They are so whimsical :)

Love these crazy cute trees! Your quilting is awesome!
I love, love, love your Christmas trees. Very clever. Thank you for sharing.
Love these trees and your fabric choices: the beige like warmth and the black dots like snow. How clever!!
all are terrific! great quilting
They look really fun. They'll make nice gifts.
How fun are those! Glad your group got together and made them... I miss that with my group, it is only handwork we do on our days together now.
These are super cute!
Those look like so much fun to make. What a different way to make a Christmas tree-in a nice way I am saying this. Nice work and I am sure your family will enjoy receiving this gift. Thanks for sharing your great work.
Very cute! They would look cute on any table!
These are so fun and whimsical. I love how you have enhanced the wonkiness with you quilting. Your family will be happy to receive them.
They look fun and whimsical. It's fun for me when I see scrappy things and recognize fabrics that I have in my stash!
Those are fun!

Those are so fun!
Adorable. Look like fun to make.

What festive fun table runners these are. And I love how you quilted each one differently. On the "snowflakes" quilted on the 2nd picture, did you use a ruler to make those? If so, can you elaborate on how you marked it and what kind of ruler? Thanks!

Thanks for sharing such a cute pattern!

Very cute trees

Very cute crazy Christmas trees.
They are fun! Looks like you had extra fun creating them too!
Those trees are great.
Very cute and fun

Cute trees!
Love your Christmas tree, table runner!!
Absolutely adorable! I love those off the wall, whimsical trees. I have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.. a wooden block with one straggly, almost bare limb with 3 twigs stuck in it that I bring out each Christmas and decorate with a few tiny home made ornaments. It looks ridiculous, but I love it! I need some of your trees on a wall hanging with one Charlie Brown tree in the middle!!

I love your crazy trees! I made one, and gave it away. Now I'm longing for one of my own. Maybe I'll get "crazy" and use unconventional colors like you did! For my first one, I followed the pattern colors, which were a variety of greens with a bit of blues. After buying the Creative Grids Spiderweb ruler, it seems a waste to only make one anyhow.

Love the one with the tan/beige backgrounds....sew crazy cute!

What a great ides. They are lovely!

Yes, I used Angela Walters Elvira for the arcs. (Could have been any arc/circle ruler) I made a template out of cardboard -- a circle the size I wanted with a smaller circle cut out of the middle. I marked the outside of the circle with 12 evenly distributed marks, then did the same on the inside, except the inside marks were offset. So, used the template to draw the two circles on the quilt and transfer all the marks. Then quilt arcs from an outside mark to the next offset inside mark like in this diagram: Having trouble making a small enough diagram that QB will allow me to include here. Hope that makes sense. |
I love all your trees, and the one that sings to me is the 3rd one with the lighter colors. It looks like spring and I can see it hanging in a baby's room. Your quilting is lovely

I just got home from a road trip/quilt retreat with a couple friends. While traveling, I found that pattern. Can't wait to make it. Have the spiderweb ruler on order.
