Both jackets are sweatshirts 2 sizes larger. If you follow Izzy's tut for crumb blocks, it's the same technique. You start by cutting the side seams and the arm sleeves of the sweatshirt. Cut off the neckband, the bottom band and the arm bands. Do Not cut down the front yet. Now you can open the shirt flat to lay out in one piece. You start with a large piece of fabric cut with 5 sides. Then follow Izzy's directions. Work up and over the shoulder seams and down the front and sleeves. Once completed, you then cut up the front to create a cardigan. That's how you are able to get the look of matched blocks. You can either quilt it or use decorative stitches on each seam. Pin the side and arms for fit. Then stitch those seams. Bind the neck, front, bottom and cuffs. The time consuming part is choosing which fabrics to lay next to each other. I am constantly auditioning fabrics. The knitted additions on the black jacket were knitted first then sewn on. It's a matter of good measuring before hand.

Oh, how pretty. The knitted collar and cuffs, etc., made it truely original with you. You did a wonderful job. Maybe you could go into a jacket making business.

Your Jackets are beautiful. I have made a couple of log cabin quilted jackets but have never mad one using a sweatshirt but have plans to do so. Yours are certainly inspirational.
