I am new to this forum for a couple of months now. Since I found you, I have gained sew much inspiration. I am basically a self taught quilter for many years now. A couple of years ago, I started making sweat shirt jackets using the crazy quilt method. Recently, I requested instructions on Izzy's Crumb Blocks. When she sent them, I realized I use the same technique for my jackets. Izzy suggested I post some photos. I am not as accomplished as you folks are on this forum. You are a very talented group. I wasn't happy with the way the black jacket fit, so I knitted a collar, cuffs and a bottom border. Knitting is another passion of mine. I hope I am able to post the photos properly.

Wowzza! Those are great. I think you are quite a seamstress. I have yet to try one of those. I like your knitted touches also. Really makes it look uptown. Glad you joined us and enjoy quilting. This is a fabulous board.

WOW!!! Love your jackets. My mini group will be working on jackets next month. It is a first for me and several others in the group.
Our mini group name is Crazy Quilters. I am going to bookmark your post and print pics to show the gals so our next project will be Crazy!!! Thank you so much for posting. You do beautiful work. Take care |

Great job on the jackets. Welcome from outside St. Louis, Missouri.
|
Beautifully done! Love the black and white!!
|
Beautiful....love that first one, they look really stylish and warm.

Great jackets. I once made a dress that was a chenille type fabric and wanted ribbing for the sleeves. Couldn't find any that matched so I knitted ribbing. Got lots of compliments on the dress. I was always being asked where I bought it.
Don't you just love things that turn out well in spite of problems? |
I really like the forst one as well, very nice
|
Absolutely LOVE the black jacket with the knitted collar, cuffs, and band! I have not knitted in years but I am tempted to try the same thing. Love, love, love your jacket!!!

Gee, I didn't think I'd get such great compliments like this. Thank you for your kindness. I'm now working on a black and white with red all over vest which is lighter in weight with no batting. I also started a red jacket with Asian fabrics, but that's now on hold till the fall. The jackets are very warm and cozy. The batik jacket has gone thru 2 transformations already. I lost 130 lbs. and would not part with that jacket. I managed to alter it each time. I recently bought a Mega Quilter with a frame and still haven't attempted to quilt anything. Bought it from a dear friend on-line, so no guide classes. Sure wish I lived near Charisma to teach me. I'd pay anything for her to teach me a tiny bit of her talent. I have several quilt tops to be quilted. All my other jackets have decorative stitching done on my Bernina 200e. I also have a Bernina Aurora 430 with a BSR that I stipple quilt smalller quilts. I suffer from more hobbies than brains. Problem is, I have to work full time with little time to play. And I work over an hour from home. Thanks again,
Camille |

Camille, your jackets are wonderful, I particularly like the way in which you have made the fabrics flow across the front so that when they are fastened the colours match!
I think you have heaps of talent and look forward to see LOTS of pictures of your quilts and other projects too!     |
