I've made these before as well. They're so easy and cute! Yours look great!

And how do you get them to look like x's instead of 4 patches? I'm just a newbie.

OMG I'm so glad I'm not alone - maybe we could be dumb and dumber, LOL just joking

Is the iron on fusible web really necessary? Do you use the warm and natural instead?

I used neither but slipped a piece of soft plastic inside. Then to wash them you can take it out

I found that site a while ago and have made four sets. I love them.

I recently made a few sets of these to sell at our exhibition here in Spain. They sold like hot cakes! I found a different tutorial which called the ones made on the diagonal "Glass slippers". You can pop the stem of a wine glass inside so that the glass is permanently connected to its coaster. Brilliant for parties, particularly if you make each with different fabrics so that each person recognises their own drink. I just use scraps of batting. They absorb any moisture when you have ice in a drink and are completely washable.

Pretty!

I've seen little charm thingers that you can attach to the stem of a wine glass. A set of these and a set of coasters would be a great gift don't you think?

I've made several sets of these coasters. Recently I was out of warm and natural so I cut a square of old jeans, skipped the 5th square of fabric and it worked great.

I was given a pair of the coasters 3 yrs ago by a lady at quilt Guild who I had given fabric to. She made me some from that fabric. Since then I have probably made 15 pairs. They are so quick and easy. Make a bit smaller for stem ware . Wine glasses fit nicely too. I don't put batting in them and have never had a probolem !
Soo, happy I got this simple pattern. I have a pair for Hanakkuh in an envelope ready to mail today. Also, as gifts for Christmas.

I also cut them in 9 inch squares and put in a square of sweatshirt material in there and make pot holders with that same pattern.
