Cross Wallhanging Finished

As some board members suggested, I quilted rays behind the cross. But then I got adventurous and decided to try out FMQ on a "real" quilt (as opposed to scraps as trial pieces). Still have to practice a lot more, but it was fun!

I have to confess that I didn't buy the pattern but just made my own after some pictures I found online...
I googled it again for you, and here's a pattern almost like my cross: Log Cabin Cross

Gorgeous Quilt. :)

Daylesewblessed 08-02-2015 12:48 PM

Wow! That is fantastic! It goes on my "to do" list. I don't think I can quilt it as good as you did, but I am going to give it a try.

What are the outer dimensions?

It's 22'' x 32''. I pieced it with 1.5'' strips.

You are getting the hang of Free-Motion. Sometimes its hard to stop quilting the quilt when you having fun learning. I am a beginner too. Your cross is stunning with the rays coming out all around.

That is the pattern that I bought. It was worth the $9 I paid to keep the pieces straight on the design wall and in my head.

It seems to me that we all think our FMQ needs practice. Wait a couple of days, look at it again, and be thrilled, you did a wonderful job. Kudos
