I finally finished my DH's Christmas present - a rag quilt. One of our favorite things to do is the Sunday morning crossword puzzle together with coffee and surrounded by our "kids" - the dogs. I found this cute flannel for the backing and then the idea grew. The letters are our names, the names of all the dogs we have had since we got married, our anniversary date (no excuses now for not remembering), and the abbreviations of the places we have lived and some random terms such as love, heart, home, etc. It took me a long time because I could only work on it when he wasn't around.

What a cute idea! You should somewhere document the significance of all the names so that future generations won't have to wonder.

Yes, I love this forum. The only problem is that every day I learn about a new quilt to make. My projects are growing faster than I can keep up with. I guess there could be worse things to worry about.
PS I printed out the paragraph (on fabric sheet) as you suggested and I will sew in on the back.
