That is an awesome quilt! I love all the color, and your sashing is perfect.

Mariposa 08-18-2013 07:36 AM

What fun! Neat crumb blocks, and I love the black & white sashing! It really sets off all the bright colors. :)

KwiltyKahy 08-18-2013 07:39 AM

What a happy quilt. I have trouble throwing away scraps and this inspires me to use them up.

Sneed 08-18-2013 07:52 AM

Turned out really nice. What an inspiration for me to get into my stash and use those little treasured pieces that have become quite a stash. Love the sashing choice. Great job.

Thank you, I did not add a border but used the dotted fabric for the binding and the backing.

I love it! Talk about using every last "crumb" of fabric. What did you use for foundation? I assume fabric. Love the black and white dots sashing.

Thank you, I did not use a foundation, just kept sewing the little chunks to each other then when I thought It was growing enough I squared up to 6.5 inches.

I hope you will post some pictures, I really found this to be very relaxing not having to worry about color placement, just grab and stitch.

I also like your sashing choice! Nice work and it was a LOT of work, wasn't it? But doesn't it feel good to make use of what others throw away?

The making of the blocks was not alot of work, but adding all the sashings and getting them all lined up as straight as I could was work to me...LOL

quiltedlamb07 08-18-2013 09:38 AM

wow, it turned out awesome, very pretty

Any helpful hints on getting the sashings to line up?

Lady Jane 08-18-2013 01:24 PM

Great quilt and love the dots for sashing!

busy fingers 08-18-2013 10:01 PM

WOW that is one gorgeous scrappy. You have inspired me to finish off something similar that I started sometime ago but with no vision of the end result.

twinkie 08-19-2013 03:07 AM

I love the polka dots. are you going to put a polka dot border on it?

Gannyrosie 08-19-2013 03:14 AM

OH wow! I love the black & white polka dots. It just pops those colors out. Crumbs are great. I made a bookmark when you first questioned about it. It looks stunning and fun.

Dear brandeesmom, I use up my scraps like this all the time. I call them crazy squares and I make mine 12.5 inches.
I think they're fun to make.

homecaregiver 08-19-2013 05:25 AM

I love your crumb quilt. I have never made one but this gives me inspiration to try. thanks for the picture.

cherrio 08-19-2013 05:26 AM

wow, love this. I would not have added that sashing with all the busy blocks but it is really a great look! I am doing some crumb blocks also as I get a chance and I love yours. I will step outta my comfort zone and rethink the sash!

WMUTeach 08-19-2013 05:40 AM

I absolutely love it!!!

judykay 08-19-2013 07:31 AM

Very nice, I love doing crumb quilts, right now I am working on a crumb table runner (blocks all done just need to decide how I want to put it together). I have done several doll quilts for charity using this method and they just need to be quilted, going on a day retreat in Sept. and that will be my project for the day, there are nine of them that need to be quilted and bound so I think I will have enough to keep me busy and not need to take every thing but the kitchen sink (lol) like I usually do.
