Back in June Sandyl posted about how she was starting to make 6.5 inch blocks using her crumbs. Well I had started to do the same thing and posted the above picture to show how my blocks were starting to add up and how I had thrown in some stray pinwheel blocks to add a little flavor to the blocks. Well now my Crumb Quilt is complete so here are my pictures and it is a bit more colorful than the pictures show. Thank you for looking. |

Very nice quilt. I have been making 4 1/2 inch crumb blocks and wondering how to sash them, I like the use of the black and white sashing, will need to remember this for when I have enough blocks.

that sashing worked very well with you lovely crumb blocks. Are you bordering it? It is fine as is, but DH is leaning over my shoulder. He thinks every quilt needs at least one border.

I love it. the black and white dotted fabric just makes it pop. I think I need to start making six inch blocks with some of my scraps. Thanks for sharing.

how much fabric did you need for the sashing? I like that you added the pinwheels and everything about your scrappy.

I didn't know about Crumb quilts. Such a novel idea and perfect for those stray blocks that we plan to do something with. The sashing really sets your quilt beautifully. I'm a lover of scrap quilts
|
Really pretty use of crumbs! Love the sashing too.
|
Very pretty and I like the addition of the pinwheels. Gives the quilt a little surprise find among the scraps.
|
I also like your sashing choice! Nice work and it was a LOT of work, wasn't it? But doesn't it feel good to make use of what others throw away?
|
Wonderful, fun quilt. Makes me happy just to look at it! I hope you keep it, it's such a uplifting colorful work.
Enjoy every time you are wrapped in it. |
