I think you have a multitasking table the AND quilt! Both sides are really pretty. I would be sure to tell the niece of this table cloths creation. Let her spread the story to keep anyone else for making a request. You did a beautiful job. I know the frustration of ripping out threads. God bless you for taking on the second challenge.

Good for you. I was just sitting here thinking about what small items I can make for my co workers. So glad you were able to start early.

Looks great. Thanks for the idea. Spray it with Scotchguard fabric protector. If anything is spilled on it it will just bead up and you can wipe it off right away without it staining. I don't think it will survive the washer though so you will probably have to spray it again the next time you use it. You can also try the new Never Wet. It is a waterproofer for fabric. It says if you spray your shoes you can walk thru water and it won't soak thru the fabric.

It turned out very nice! I'm sure your Aunt is going to love it! I especially like the Christmas side!

Just gorgeous and more gorgeous.

I'm wondering why the special effort to make it double sided. I think I'd rather have two separate table cloths and avoid the extra hastle. It would cost more for the extra batting and backing, I realize.

You made a very special gift. Hope she treasures it.

The end result was worth it. Bless you for making the effort! She will be thrilled I am sure.

My Grandmother first requested a double sided one last year, as a single tablecloth would take up less room when not being used than two separate ones. She almost always has a quilt of some sort on her table when it does not have the leaves in it ( I have made her two others this past year ) , but really wanted one large enough to use for Holidays. Once her leaves go in just before Thanksgiving, they stay in until after Easter !
