A friend asksed me to turn her curtains into a bedspread.
They are stretchy & moved alot. But I was able to do it. What a challenge this was. |
Nice job. You are a great friend.
wow, you certainly met the challenge. Wonderful job. Bet she was thrilled.
Very pretty. :)
Well I'll be that looks great! You had quite a challenge.
Thank you!
I was so nervous I would ruin it because of the stripes! |
Very nice! I woudn't have thought of doing a quilt with curtains.
beautiful job !!!!!! Michele
Very pretty and you did a great job!
gorgeous
Looks good, you are a brave quilter, I think I would have turned down the request. Lucky friend that you did it.
Thank you!
I floated the top. It made it easier to keep straight. This is the first time I've done it on such a long piece. I usually only do it on small peices. |
Very nice!
The large pattern used for quilting is very eye appealing and coordinates well with the fabric!
Wow you did a great job on the bedspread. I've never thougth of doing a bedspread out of curtains. Beautifal.

The curtains must have been lovely and the quilt turned out beautiful. You did a great job. But what does "floater" mean I'm not too knowledgeable about some quilting words.
great job, thanks for sharing with all of us

On a long arm frame you usually pin the top to a roller. And the quilt top is rolled on a bar. Floating it means you let it drape to the floor instead of rolling it. That way you can adjust it side to side for straightness. |

She's had these extra curtains for a year. A bedspread was on her to do list. She just glad she didn't do it. |
So elegant! Love the quilting!!
Well done
double post.
Oh okay since I don't have a long arm I guess that is one word I don't need to know about. But thanks anyway. It's always nice to learn something.
Looks like a custom designer project!
Very elegant! Good Job :D:D:D
You did good! I know she'll appreciate it.
You're a wonderful friend.
Fabric and quilting are gorgeous. Incidentally I use alot of decorator
fabrics for lap quilts, bed runners, and machine quilt them on a mid-arm. |
Love it! Recently I changed our bathroom curtains--Blue and Gree Broadcloth, which were the long pieces you just drape over a rod, for Lace Curtains.
I used the long pieces of Green and Blue in one of my up-coming quilts. Works Perfect!! I am a firm believer in making use of everything. Mariah. |
Great job. Aren't you the brave one!!
Great job, the curtains made a gorgeous bedspread!!! Your quilting is wonderful, it looks like it lays very well!!!!!!!!
You just gave me a super great idea. Quilt and curtains to match, quilted also. Oh, and the babies in the picture are just great. Love Bostons and always had one and just got one four months ago and we are still trying to keep up with her.
Merry Christmas |
