because I use a corner of our bedroom as my Quilting Corner, I have a small cutting table. It's a Vintage butcher block table. My husband recently added 3" to its height (I'm 5'3" ) to ease my aching neck. It has handy shelves underneath, and although it would be Fabulous to have a larger space, it works for my cozy set-up.

My table is pictured in the "sewing rooms" section. I have two oak legal size file cabinets that were garage sale finds. I set a sliding closet door on top with mats. I got the closet door at a recycle place for $15.00. The file cabinets cost me $5.00 each. The only problem I'm having is that it's too low. DH is going to raise them for me ---- "some day"....:)

I had a local cabinet maker build my cutting table for me. The only thing I would do differently today would be to add drop leaves on the two ends and possibly along the back. They would come in handy when pin basting a larger quilt.
The cutting table is on wheels also. It takes two men and a boy to move the thing but it can be moved!

This is what mine looks like. I got it at JC Penney's. It is about 30 inches deep, 32 high (once I took the wheels off) and the cutting surface is about 43 inches wide. It is perfect for me because I am short and my room wont accomodate the larger tables.
