I much prefer the darker, but I always like contrast!

The higher contrast is better, I think. This will be a great quilt for your mom because she will remember sewing every garment represented in the quilt.

You definitely need the contrast instead of the 2 lighter colors. Pretty fabrics though.

I love the contrast of the light and dark. The other one is just to close for me.
