Maybe get a Texas quilters from QB together this winter. Every time you turn around they were feeding us full meals and desserts and snacks, etc. I think my britches were a little tighter when I left. LOL

For those of you that have never been to the Compass Centre. Melissa started this retreat in o5 or 06 its hard to remember now. All the fabric for the quilts on all the bed came from her stach. Some of her quilting buddies made the quilt for all the bed. Since the opening the Retreat has pretty much been sold out every weekend. All the walls in the bed room and down the 2 halls have quilts. If I knew how to down load pic on here I could show you some of the changes the Centre has gone through. and more of the quilts When it first open where the store is used to be melissa office. Then she started getting the fabric about 3 years ago.
She has so much fabric you don't have to head into Waco if you forgot a piece for a project. So with all that said its the Best place to go for a retreat. Try and go you will want to live there. My first time we stay from a thur to a wed we didn't want to leave. We only left because we need our meds. |

In late Sept 4 years ago this fall we did some quilts for Breast Cancer. The room was full with 37 of us making quilts for ebay to be bid on. There was one made with all cowgirl boots and one of the boot tops at the Centre Compass logo on the boots it was so cool we all wanted to win that one..
What was so strange about the sew in right after that 2 of my friends and I all found out we had Breast cancer. Mellisa is also a survior. |
Thanks for sharing!! Looks like you all had a great time!! Loved your Betty Boop quilt!!
|
Log cabin quilt just gorgeous what pattern did you use You have a great eye for colors also like bayik love the bowl and the walker bags would love to have patterns for these Man all that quilting - I'd be worn out not to mention an area of the body that would be very sore for sitting so long  thanks cheryl
|
I always buy raffle tickets for the cancer quilt when she has them. She is quite the lady. I love the "Fight Like a Girl Shirts" they wear with the cancer signs. Its the one in the first picture I posted of her. Godspeed to all survivors.
|
When we sat too long we got up and did the chicken dance or the merigbue, LOL. Quite a show.
