I have had this pattern for quite a while and have been collecting scraps of homespuns to finish it. Well, a snowy December certainly provided the inspiration. I started the little wall hanging at our group's November project day and then modified a pattern for the table topper.
The buttons took longer to sew on than the piecing did!! Also I ripped the whole thing apart to add the cornerstones because I couldn't get it to line up properly otherwise. Those gingerbread button boys are so cute and I understand completely about the cornerstones, I use them if possible and show beginning quilters how they make life easier in the quilting world.

The corner stones were a wonderful fix...draws your eyes away from any misalignments. I am a fan of buttons on quilts too! Very nice work :)

Love those gingerbread boys. Our Quilt Guild did a block swap with that pattern a couple of years ago, and I haven't put mine together yet. Will post it when it's done. Love your border.
