Completely reversible king-size quilt; both sides are made totally from scraps.
I used Warm & Natural batting. It's a bit heavy as it's got so many (thousands, it seemed!) seam allowances enclosed :o so it's nice to be able to "change" the quilt by just turning it over. This one is "Buggy Wheels". I used white sashing and white binding on this side. I dubbed this [string quilt] side "Just the Scraps, Ma'am"! I used black sashing and black binding on this side. These two photos show the reverse of each side. |
Wow!!! You will get pleasure everytime you see it... I love how the scraps all work together to make a bright cheery reversible quilt.

That quilt is amazing!! I can hardly believe you pieced both sides!!! To me that looks like a lifetime of work just on one quilt. Spectacular is how I'd describe both sides. I seem to find I am partial to scrappy quilts.
|
I bet that scrap bag is a little lighter now! Beautiful quilt. I agree, you should enter that in a show!
|
That is one great quilt on one side and another one on the other. You are wonderful!!!!

One of the most “ambitious” projects I’ve ever seen ! Nice !

Love what you have done with your scraps and a Quilt-As-You-Go to boot. I have had a QAYG in the lurch for 11 years, but I have never done one before and have been a little hesitant. This makes me want to pull it out and get 'er done! |
I love your quilt, beautiful job. I love scrappy quilts!

Wow! Beautiful work - scrappy makes it "one of a kind"! I've been tempted to try the QAYG method but haven't - now I'm inspired

That is wonderful!

Looks like you won the war! Absolutely gorgeous!
|
Great placement on your colors and I like the idea of it being reversible!
|
I can only repeat what others have sald before."Wow...beautiful!"
|
Oh my goodness! That is absolutely wonderful. I love both sides. I bet it is heavy and warm. What a wonderful way to use up lots of scraps and doing it quilt as you go was a brilliant idea. It would have been a bugger to quilt the whole quilt in a traditional way with all those seams. I Love both sides so much! What an inspiration for all of us wondering what to do with that overflowing scrap container.
