Deep in the Heart of Texas - quilted

Hi all! I think I posted this when I got it all together, now it's quilted! Still have to trim & bind it, then it's going to the Guild show in Oct. This was all done free hand, not a pantograph or computer (I don't have one on my machine!) There is no pattern for this, I made it up myself.

Very pretty! Great job on the quilting!

Love your quilt---the fabrics, the design and the quilting! But, maybe as a Texan, I'm prejudiced....no, just honest!

jackied 08-14-2012 03:05 PM

Love those Texas quilts! I only saw one at the Plano Tx. quilt show last week. There were no other quilts with the western theme. Yours is really nice.

You better patent that quilting design! You could be rich and not know it! Kudos!

AuntieD 08-14-2012 03:46 PM

I like the way you combined different patterns. Nice quilt.

TexasSunshine 08-14-2012 07:18 PM

Love your quilt. I am making one for my sister (we are all Texans, born and raised). She lives in Hawaii, has for 40 plus years and I wanted to make her a Texas quilt to remind her of home. I am almost finished with it and will get DH to post pictures when I am finished with it. Cindy60545, we are almost neighbors, I live outside of Kilgore in Liberty City.

From one Texan to another, Congratulations on a beautiful Very Texas quilt! Love it!

matraina 08-16-2012 07:47 AM

Love your quilt! I am going to try that same quilting when I make my granddaughter's quilt. Did you get it from Pat Stern's video?

Cindy60545 08-16-2012 07:57 AM

Matraina, I don't know of Pat Stern, but I did all this freehand...no pattern. Only pattern, per Se, was the tumbling blocks & braided border, I just combined the two my way.

jamsbuying 08-16-2012 08:30 AM

Moda has the Texas fabric and also charms.

Debra Mc 08-16-2012 01:24 PM

Hi Cindy. Love the quilt. I have all those fabrics, just haven't worked them up yet. Talk about small world I grew up in Wills Point. Moved away after the 6th grade. Still keep up with some friends. I live in Palestine now. Not too far away. Do you ever go to Tyler.? We have sewing club every 3rd Thursday of the month. Lots of fun. You should try & come. It is at Sharmans Sewing Center. PM me & I will send you directions. A friend that comes to sewing club lives in Wills Point too. I went to school with her kids. Would love to hear from you.

Debra Mc 08-16-2012 01:27 PM

Forgot. Awsome quilting. Do you belong to the Tyler Guild or is there one in Wills Point.
