Oh it’s beautiful and she will love it. Will be so warm. I love denim quilts so comfy.

Thank you everyone! :)
Cutting the circles of denim really is the most tedious part, but it goes together quickly. I forgot to add that the pastel fabric is actually very soft, but thick and durable cotton (stain-resistant) upholstery fabric. It was a freebie given to me that I had NO idea how to use. Well.... I figured it out!

Halfway into this project, I got a Viking. As I'd already started the project and didn't want to risk different stitching, I finished it on my nothingfancy18stitchtrusty Kenmore that I've had since new in 1991. Using the correct needle for the denim (heavy duty fabric) helps tremendously! Oh.. and Elmer's glue is your friend. |
Terrific quilt. nice colors for a girl.

I really like your stitching. Very pretty. I did not know how heavy denim quilts were until I made 1.

Wow! fantistic job!

Wow...she'll have this quilt forever! I need to dig mine out of the UFO pile.
Great job. |
That is so sharp. I have never seen anything like it. Just wonderful

She will adore it. Can't wait to see it.

Your quilt is really very nice, I love how you designed it!
Did you use any batting or just the fabric and the denim? I have made quite a few and am always amazed at the weight. The last one I made was for my son and I just sewed the blocks together and lined it with a beautiful flannel desert fabric. It was the first one I made with out any batting and he says it is really warm. It was for a double bed and it was really heavy. (they have to take it to laundrymat to wash as it is too heavy for their machine! I get jeans at second hand stores and use the pieces I can't use for the quilt for purses or aprons. I love working with jeans! |
