Ok, I'm putting this quilt together for a little girl. She only wanted purple and zebra, so it's a 2 color quilt. So I layed out the blocks in a few different positions. But can't decide what would be best for a 16year old....would love the opinion of my fellow quilters. thanks

(it's my first time uploading pics, so hopefully all 3 appear.

I vote for layout number 2.

spartan quilter 11-06-2011 11:28 AM

I showed this to my SIL, who is visiting and we both agree that the last one, with the pinwheels, is the one that really pops the eyes. What great colors.

DeneK 11-06-2011 11:41 AM

My preference is No. 3 -- Love the movement of that one.

itwrx4me 11-06-2011 11:44 AM

I would vote for No. 3 also. I think a teenager would love it being more vibrant and less structured!

QandE2010 11-06-2011 11:47 AM

I love design number 3. I think that it shows off both fabrics so well. Be sure to let us know what you decide and post pictures when you are completed with it.

mzzzquilts 11-06-2011 11:47 AM

I vote for #3 pinwheels!

frugalfabrics 11-06-2011 11:50 AM

#3 was my choice...and of yours also...so I feel better. I think I'll go with that one for her.

I like #1 and #2 for myself....maybe I'll make myself one.

lfstamper 11-06-2011 11:51 AM

I like number 2~

Vivian Ketron 11-06-2011 11:52 AM

I like #2 best but they all look good.

Motorcyclemad 11-06-2011 11:54 AM

#2 or #3 would be wonderful. I have always been partial to pinwheels though.

jillaine 11-06-2011 12:15 PM

#3 - pinwheels!

valsma 11-06-2011 12:17 PM

I think I like #2 most. Three is to busy and one would be my second choice. I think whichever you choose she will like it.

I really like #2. The pinwheel one is cool but to much on my eyes (just my opinion)

cherrio 11-06-2011 12:23 PM

she's 16 and imho too old for pinwheels. stop yelling ladies. lol I love #1

QuiltnNan 11-06-2011 12:24 PM

my vote goes to #2

ranger 11-06-2011 12:27 PM

I vote for #3. Lots of motion to catch the eye.

honeygram15 11-06-2011 12:43 PM

I really like the way layout 3 looks. Let us know what you decide to do.

bettysew 11-06-2011 12:43 PM

I vote for the pinwheels. They make a gorgeous quilt.

Lakeview Quilting 11-06-2011 03:02 PM

My vote is #3.

Lindsey 11-06-2011 03:02 PM

Actually I like number two... Gives it a reallly good pattern. Further apart is better and doesn't look so jumbled.

travelingquilter 11-06-2011 03:02 PM

i like #2, but can't go wrong with any of them...

Keep Them In Stitches 11-06-2011 03:03 PM

I think the teenager will like the movement in #3.

hairquilt 11-06-2011 03:09 PM

I like #2 also but any setting will look great with those fabrics!

lallyann 11-06-2011 03:09 PM

I like #1 best! then #3, then #2. All are pretty, and I think a 16 yo would like any of them! Her color/print choices are awesome!

not_sew_sane 11-06-2011 03:21 PM

roseOfsharon 11-06-2011 03:23 PM

I would go with # 2... but what about the zebra print on each of the corners of the blocks.. making a purple square in the center of each block?

Love #3 !! I have 3 teenage granddaughters (two are 16 yr olds and one 17yr old)
& they ALL picked #3 :)

Chicca 11-06-2011 03:30 PM

I vote for number 3. I just love the movement with the fabrics in this layout. Have fun choosing and hope you show us the finished quilt. Thanks for sharing.

joyce888 11-06-2011 04:15 PM

I like layout # 3

QUILTNMO 11-06-2011 04:18 PM

i vote for 3

jeanharville 11-06-2011 04:28 PM

the colors are so intense that the 2nd one my give some separation to allow both colors to shine on their own. (if anyone knows what a 16-yr-old likes, let me know. I have one). That being said, I like all the combinations and I bet she'll like the one you choose.
