This last week she put the binding on and feather stitched it on. Then tacked all the rosette's down. I think it is amazing. We are at the lake enjoying the summer. Hope you enjoy this special quilt from her. Done by her. :D Proud Grandma
Pressed button to soon.

My DGD designed this quilt by herself. She laid them out along with pictures of her to make it look good. I did the stitch in the ditch for her as far as quilting went and along the main design of each picture I outlined and stippled. She added the binding and did a feather stitch with multi colored thread. Yes took some time but well worth it. She added the rosettes by doing a inplace stitch around the rosette to stablize it. The ribbons are for horse riding. She does halter, showmanship, western pleasure, Horsemanship, English pleasure, Equitation and trail with one horse and is training another to do barrels, poles, jumping figure eight. She is having a ball. She started riding at about 5 in walk trot and lead line. Her quilting is coming along so well I think next year she will try to quilt it herself. Thank you for all your comments. She will be surprized as she is a very shy pleasant young lady. Thanks,

Doing a lead change!

What a fantastic way of saving her ribbon mementos. Did you use a stabilizer under the ribbons before sewing together?
