DH's Journey to Arkansas quilt
1 Attachment(s)
After I taught my DH how to sew, all he would make was quilts with 2.5 inch blocks. He has made about 80 of those tops. I never could convince him that there were other patterns out there that he could make using those blocks. Well, I finally convinced him. Here is his first Journey to Arkansas quilt top. For some reason, I think I see a lot of them in his future!! What do you think?
|
wow he will be wanting to make many different kinds now.
|
What I see first is a fabulous quilt! Wow! Your DH is a natural! And hey... there's a zillion patterns he can make with all his 2.5" squares! Thanks for posting this beauty... tell you DH I tip my hat to him!

I think that is wonderful, he did a real good job, much that I ever could ever do. I love that pattern, I saw one in white that he make last night on another page that is real good too. I would like to know what the pattern is called and do you have a pattern?

|
I've been looking at that pattern, maybe I'll move it from my to do list to my to do sooner list! Love it!

You taught him to sew. How did you do that? How did you get him curious and how did you get him to try? I'd love to have a sewing buddy in the house but the cat prefers to crochet. Just imagine - seeing the front of his head and hearing the sewing machine and not a financial analyst talking on the computer. A cohort with great color sense who can pick fabrics for me. (I am a good technician and a miserable artist. But I do well solving technical problems! And I can design clothes - fewer color choices per garment.)
Thank you for even considering giving me directions. Just think, if he sewed, we would need to use a larger room. Pat |
