Love the fabrics. Got a laugh, though, when I misread the number with a comma! 1,694 yds. of blue will make a lot of quilts!
Quilt in a day has lot of great patterns...check out Eleanors site she has free videos of some of here patterns.
What ever you make out of this fabric, it is going to be great. Wonderful colors. Applause! Applause!

Sidmona said: " You did great choosing the fabrics but be careful - quilting is very addictive."
Boy, you got that right! But its a good addiction. :) |
Great choice of colors. Keep us posted on your project.
Very pretty colors. I especially like the first 2 fabrics. Good luck, I bet you'll love quilting.
Great colors! Now hurry and finish it so we can all enjoy it! :)
Excellent choices of fabrics and welcome to our corner of the world where opinions and suggestions are abundant! I will be waiting for a post of what you make.
Another link for patterns, from this board.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-561-1.htm Also you can try a basic 9 patch and put it in the top as a bigger 9 patch. I saw a pattern in one of my quilting magazines and it makes an easy Irish chain. You use a 9 patch and another fabric(solid, or toille, something close to the color of the 9 patch one) and do it in a larger 9 patch and it's lovely. |
I love the fabrics, and you did a great job matching colors!
Great colors for flow. Can't wait to see what you do with them
I think you did well. The colors are so pretty together. Good eye.

I'm no expert by a longshot but i love the colors and i think it will make a beautiful quilt. can't wait to see finished product!
I really like the fabrics you picked out. They all go together very well.
Looks like you are on your way to being an addicted quilter! The fabric is beautiful!
You have a good eye for color. Rail fence would look great in your color choices, and then you have the option to quilt in the ditch, which is simple, or get fancy if you feel brave. Have fun getting addicted.
You go girl it looks great...
You did great with your color match. now what are you waiting for? :D God bless.
I love your fabrics! Great job!
I think you did very well.. you will know when it all comes together..

Opinions appreciated. Just couldn't wait to get something so I could try my hand at this quilting thing. lol I figured I'd start out with a simple block, any suggestions? |
You also need a dark in there, it will help balance the quilt.
you have very light and 2 mediums. I do like the fabrics that you've chosen. Also you could put in another size of print to add interest. |
I like your fabric choices. It will be pretty.
purplefiend I don't get what you mean by "you have very light and 2 mediums". I have four fabrics, one light and two mediums with a dark. I consider the blue a dark.
you did GREAT; that fabric looks playful--i see pinwheels in your future.........

The quilt tops pictured are showing how fabrics work together depending on whether the fabric is light, medium or dark. |
Love the colors you chose. I think you have a great eye for what goes together.
Thank you moonwolf. I love making scrap quilts. The 2 batik tops were kits made from salesman's samples, the pattern is from "Layer 'em' up" by Sharyn Craig
I'm confused. Is this a reply to my post or to purplefiend's quilts.
"Love the colors you chose. I think you have a great eye for what goes together." Sorry but being a newbie, it will take me time to understand all this quilt knowledge. |
I love the Corn flower material. There was a whole line that went with it. I bought each of the fabrics, ran out went back and most of them were gone :-( I bought what I could still buy.

How about Warm Wishes with the focus fabric (white background print) as the whole square and the three other fabrics as the stripe block. Oops! I'm bad about sending a reply before reading all of the posts. I see that someone else had the same idea. |
Love the colors! 8-)
