I saw a link the other day for a little dimensional quilt. The first blog was in Chinese but I downloaded the paper piecing templates. There was another link from thimble-art.com which was in english. I didn't watch the video's until I finished it and I may not have done it as intended but I did make one.
Living in Oregon this has been a very long wet spring and most of us are really getting tired. We had one sunny day and it inspired me to make this using rather non traditional fabrics from my scraps and added some free-motion embroidery. Then the rain started again so I added and a little bead work sparkle for the rain. Welcome Spring! |

Lovely! It's gloomy weather where I am and this brightened my day.

That is beautiful!!! And definitely "SPRINGy!" :)
I like that, very "springy"
Yes, we Oregonians need some Spring. You did a lovely job
of bringing it. |
Sooo lovely !! :-D
I love it!!!! Especially the dimentional leaves and the fabric choices are perfect, the tulip looks so real with the way you placed the pattern design of the flower petals.
That's wonderful. I think we're all ready for Spring.
What a beautiful spring banner. I would like to make one myself. Where did you get the pattern?
Thanks for your comment. The pattern sample didn't look like this. I wasn't trying to be realistic, but rather representational. I started to observe nature and saw some variegated tulips. I thought a striped fabric would represent that. And since yellow and purple are Easter colors in my mind, I used that as my inspiration. I plan to give it as a Easter thank you gift.

Stunning! I've always rather have snow than storms, and after hearing about all the severe weather to the south I will take more snow. (I do enjoy getting out in the warm sunshine though.) You did an awesome job!
