Disappearing 4 patch
4 Attachment(s)
I want to sash the disappering 4 patch, but the color is what I am having a problem with - black, white, cream, navy or green???
The scappy colors are red, green yellow and blue as you can see in some of the blocks in the photo. Okay, you great and awesome quilters - any ideas? |
sorry I am not 100 % understanding your question.
My question is - what color should I use for the sashing? Any ideas?
Do you have any of block number 2's blue in a different shade? Otherwise maybe black. Good luck in your decision
Kona black!
Either the navy you've used in your blocks or black. Dark colors used for sashing always seem to make the blocks really pop.
No idea for the sashing. That is a beautiful block
I think navy would look good.
I'd definitely do black to make your blocks stand out. White would be too bland, and any other color will 'fight' the colors of your blocks. Can't wait to see the finished quilt!
Navy or black.
Black. Good job on the blocks. Love them!
Black or white. Interview both to see which u like best.
I would go for black, it seems to enhance the other colours in the blocks. Good luck!!! Looking forward to see the finished quilt :)
Sorry yes...
Black or navy could you add a picture with a few blocks laying on black fabric and a few with navy.... that would be helpful |
I also vote for either navy or black .... any other color would compete with the blocks. Your quilt blocks are beautiful.
Black or Navy would go great.
How about a pale yellow? That might work. Maybe when you audition the sashing you'll come up with the right color automatically.
Depends on whether you are looking for a soft look in which case I would use a light color, if a dramatic look I would use a navy or dark green. Your blocks are beautiful!! I look forward to seeing what you decide to do.
Guess I'm different but think cream would be nice.
You need to audition several colors. Lay them beside it, walk away, come back and start removing the ones you don't like.
Black sashes would work. Pretty blocks.
How about a navy or dark Blue, most of yur blocks so far have blue in them. It will give them a sharp look. If you use a brown it will make it look antique. I love scrap quilts.
Why not sew all of the colors together & make a patchwork binding???? Just try & not put like colors w/ like colors.
Does that make any sense?? Oh poop--I just re read your post- forget I even said anything. LOL. |
OOOOH! your blocks are awesome.
i would do black

I would use purple or navy.
I would use the darkest black I could find.
it seems like we always opt for black. how about making the sashing as scrappy as the square you have shown us.
black at the width of the rectangles
Black or Navy, great job and thank you for sharing.
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
Something bold to tie it all together., At least it seems to work for me. I'd probably go with black like some suggested.
I say black or brown
I agree with navy or black. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
I am for some kind of dark Blue too.
