Disappearing 9 Patch Pictures Please!

I've been away from quilting for a few years and want to get started back into it :) I've bought what I need to get started on a Disappearing 9 Patch quilt. I'm thinking of just doing a random placing but have seen so many varieties online and on youtube. Can you show me some of your pictures of a Disappearing 9 Patch quilt?

Thanks!

I’m not good with sending pictures so I’ll try to describe - each block needs 9 squares all the same size (5” charm squares work well). Lay out the squares 3 across an 3 down - this can be scrappy or planned. See the squares together into 3 rows and 3 rows down to make a 9-patch block. This block is cut in half vertically and horizontally - thus has to be as close to perfect as possible. Then each of the 4 squares are resewn back, into specific ways. I strongly suggest you just Google 9-patch quilts for a really good explanation and lots of pictures for the best explanation. This is a fun quilt to make.

Look in the quilt gallery menu at the beginning of the pictures section and there are many member's photos of their DNPs or any other pattern you might be interested in.

My first quilt was a D9P. Then I made an I spy quilt.

Here's my disappearing 9-patch. There are so many variations of disappearing patch type blocks including 4-patch, hourglass, etc. I made this one for my ex-beau and used the scraps to make a little patchwork quilt for his kitty. Found another one I'd forgotten about I made up using dinosaur fabrics for a young boy.

Here is an interesting D9P with a difference, by Izy. If you scroll down she explains how its' done. Is on my to-do list.

Here is one I made for a little girl in the hospital. It had to be quick.

I think this was a disappearing nine-patch.

There are several ways to lay them out to create a different look, pattern.

Why is it that many of the pictures that were posted of DP9 quilts are not showing up? Did they do something to eliminate the majority of them? I know that the one that I made for my granddaughter that died is no longer showing up. It’s very upsetting to not be able to see it when people are looking for examples of them. I would really like to know since it seems like I can’t find anything that I have posted throughout the years!

Are you thinking of your D9P shown at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...219_185416.jpg from your thread https://www.quiltingboard.com/pictur...d-t286229.html ? The pictures are still on the site, but may be hard to find. There is an archive of the the Pictures forum at https://www.quiltingboard.com/sitemap/f-5.html but it is 287 pages long and only give the title of the thread. You can go to https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...ts-u31698.html and click on the "Statistics" tab. Then you can click on the either your posts or threads started.

As Wesing said there are two pages of D9P in the picture gallery as well as other at https://www.quiltingboard.com/pictures-f5/

It looks like there are only nine pages on the current "Pictures" forum which only goes back to threads that were last posted to from June 22, 2021. Like I said, there is an archive that is 287 pages and the thread that is on the bottom of page 287 was started 11-22-2006!
