I second this post. I have never set a D9P on point. It's beautiful and the flying geese just add the frosting on the cake. Great job!!

WMUTeach 07-25-2012 06:34 AM

Lovely. The D9L can look so simple or glamorous!

craftymatt2 07-25-2012 06:35 AM

farmquilter 07-25-2012 06:48 AM

outstanding quilt

AnnaF 07-25-2012 09:36 AM

Hi Mary, thanks for the kind words, yes, I did the quilting on my Gammill in one day. That panto is 16" wide so it works fairly quickly even thought it's dense quilting. I absolutley love that design!!

jerilee 07-25-2012 01:07 PM

Pretty, pretty!

berrypatch 07-25-2012 02:08 PM

blueheavenfla 07-25-2012 05:52 PM

Is this a purchased pattern and if so by whom and what is the name of the pattern and where can I buy it? If it is not a purchased pattern will you do a tut for us all, please?

Your quilt is just Georgous ! Your choice of colors was great. You gave me some good idea's thank you for sharing.

AnnaF 07-29-2012 07:38 PM

All my hard work paid off, my quilt won a second place ribbon!!! What a wonderful surprise that was, since it was a simple pattern and my very first entry in a show I never imagined that I would win anything at all.. Now I am inspired to get my DWR finished and ready for the 2013 show but I will NOT be waiting so long to get it done and quilted next year. I should be getting my judges comments in a week or so, I'm anxious to read their comments but I know some of them already anyhow. I had some shadowing on light areas from dark areas, I also used a grey thread to piece because I so want white stitching showing on the black areas so I tried for a happy medium. The seam line shadowed in a few places due to my zealous pressing. I still am so excited about the win I could dance a jig.
Also was asked Friday to teach Beginner and Advanced quilting at our Adult Ed programs for this fall and next spring so that will be fun. Now to whip up a couple of class samples..
Thanks so much for all the kind words about my quilt!

I am amazed how different D9P look as the fabrics are varied. This is beautiful and the quilting looks great also. You might just win a prize.

faykilgore 08-09-2012 02:37 PM

Congratulations on the prize! Well deserved! I would love to know if you used a purchased pattern, or made up your own. Either way, I would love to be able to use this pattern for the piecing. I don't have access to a long arm, so my quilting would have to be SID.

I would love to see a block (or paper representation) with the cut lines marked and in color. Can you do this? Is this a published pattern and if so what is it called and by whom is it sold? Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS!
