I love your quilt. Just a question did you do just a two color 9 patch for the initial blocks and then mix and match the cut apart pieces? Good job! |
Thank you Loretta, Charlie2, Bev, and Mrs Mel! :D
Sewlady31 - I used 8 different fat quarters. I cut them into 5" strips and 5" strips of the background fabric - making each into a 9 patch. Each nine patch was just the background fabric and one of the fat quarter colors. I followed gcathie's instructions that she posted for her DP9 - if you go to page 3 of the following link, you'll see how easy it is to do! http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/10771.page Good luck!! |
Vicki that's fabulous! I love it! And the border arrangement really sets it off.

Thanks for the info. I am the type of person that needs the visual to
see how it is actually going to turn out. I would like to make up a few of these, for my nephews clan, they lost their belongs and house in a fire, so when they get situated I thought that I would have quilts similar so they would somewhat match for his four little ones. If I go with more complicated piecing, they might be graduating before I get them all done. Thanks so much for the inspiration. |
Terrific! The border is great. It looks comfortable, doesn't it?
|
Thanks K!! :D
Thanks Ducky - it is a very comfy couch quilt!! Your welcome Sewlady31 - they go together very quick. |
Oh, it's beautiful! I love how you made the backing - Well done!
