Diving into the 1-1/2" strip box

1 Attachment(s)
Didn't feel like being creative this weekend, but wanted to sew, so I pulled out that overflowing box of 1-1/2" strips and ended up making 6-1/2" blocks. I usually just do all scrappy colors with these thin strips, but I think I like this way better, and will do some more charity quilts like this one. Thanks for looking.

Wow - that turned out lovely. I don't think I have that many different choices in my 1.5" strip box . . . but if I did I sure would be happy to have/give this end result. Very nice ~smile~

QuiltMom2 03-29-2017 02:38 AM

I really like that!

jmoore 03-29-2017 03:03 AM

Love your color arrangement Judy. How did you end up with so many 1 1/2" strips? I have a bin of 2 1/2" pieces from bindings but 1 1/2 seems like an odd size. Just curious.

quilterpurpledog 03-29-2017 03:40 AM

Beautiful quilt. I really like the way you used the color groups. That kind of quilting project should keep the scraps under control and make wonderful quilts for family members and/charity work.

rj.neihart 03-29-2017 03:45 AM

I've used my stash for this same project - outlined each box in black. Nice job!

sewvicki 03-29-2017 03:56 AM

I really like this look....scrappy but organized. I think this is my favorite string quilt design ever. Thanks for sharing.
