My favorites. Good Job and pattern is just right. I collect for someday and that someday is now. With the prices going up it is time to use my stash and scraps. I like all colors and bright ones. i like colors.

Oh my goodness. I hope all of your family is okay, and your house is in one piece. I can not imagine what it is like, but I can imagine that it has to be unbelieveably frightening
I have no idea where you live, but it seems as if tornados, etc. are hitting areas that have never had any before. Here in So. Fl. we have had some tornados pass through when we have one of our passing monsoon rains that last anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes. Comes out of nowhere. The tornados just rip off some roofs on buildings and maybe knock down a tree but we don't have the funnels, etc. |
Oh, so pretty. Love the fabric.

Went on the quilting magazine site and other sites and did not see any magazine called Quilt. Went through so many listings, but nothing with that name.
|
I used to take the magazine. I wonder if they don't publish it
anymore? |
Bright minds think alike! My next two quilts are black and white, one w/red the other w/intense colored skateboards. Enjoy!

Those fabrics will look great with that pattern!! Have lots to chose from
|
I love your fabric and the pattern. I have been collecting neutrals to work with my scraps.
|
Shabby Chic colors, I always am drawn to the pinks, greens and soft colors no matter how hard I try to go outside of my box!!!
|
I think i have at least half the fabrics in your stack!! Working on a blk, wte and red paper pieced quilt for my daughter so i have alot of those but i think i collect everything...lol. Cant wait to see your quilt finished!!
|
I find that rather then collecting a certain color I try NOT to collect only purple, as it is my favorite color I have a tendency to buy it. Having only one color can make for a boring stash so I limit myself to only one purple fabric per shopping trip!
|
Nice colours...I want to make a black white and red...I have a bolt of black and white and some smaller bits of red...
|
I wanted to thank everyone for your posts and to let you know that I have read everyone of them.
I find it very intersting to see what others colllect. It is like getting a little peek into everyones world. |
Your quilt will be fabulous!
I don't have any pics of collections, but I tend to lean towards blues, purples, golds and orange. I also seem to be stuck in a rut with those! |

I'm in the process of organizing my stash since I finally got shelves put in my room and I have a lot of orange, purples, blues, and browns!! I was a little surpriised about the oranges. I tend to buy what I like and figure it out later too and I buy what catches my eye. If I really love it, I think of it in terms of a focus fabric and buy a few yards figuring I can buy coordinating fabrics later. Intrestingly, because I tend to buy in the same color families, most of the fabric coordinates with stuff I already have! And they tend to be earthy, deep, rich and jewel tone colors.

Love that pattern. What is the name of the magazine?

I collect purples, blues and pinks. Then I collect anything with Butterflies or pansies.
|
I am partial to greens, browns, reds, and purples. I am also into the pastel 1930s colors.

I tend to collect way too much! My daughter wanted a purple quilt, so I started collecting purples, a yard or half yard at a time. I've made several purple quilts and still have a huge pile. Then it was homespuns for a cute wallhanging I saw in a magazine. I can now make 100 of them with fabric to spare. I did the same with plaid flannels, blues, greens, teals, and most recently, civil war reproductions for a Dear Jane quilt. I have a huge pile of these and those little blocks don't take much, so I will have many quilts out of civil war repos. I am planning a red and white scrappy quilt, so hmmmm, I think I need more reds!

How perfect your fabrics will be to match the quilt pattern. Can't wait to see yours on here.

Your fabrics look great!
I am a hoarder....but I collect any AMY BUTLER and KAFFE fabrics....the color I have most of is pinks and reds....browns....don't have any blues or grays?? |
You've got a good lookin bunch of fabrics there, but I think
there's way more than enough for two quilts, ha. I am now quilting on a black and white, with a touch of red. I collected for quite some time before I felt I had what I wanted. When I got through with this top, I had soooo much left I made a nine patch with black & white and the set-together blocks were a red. And...I still have fabric left. Am going to make a jacket for one of my daughters..and will still probably have some left. I like to choose over a period of time. I learned my lesson when I was asked to make queen-sized quilts for 3 grandaughters (sisters). I went to 4 nice shops to even get enough variety. After they were pieced, I began to see more that came on the market that were much more to my liking. Live and learn. |
Great fabric. I can't wait to see the finished quilt.

I make nothing but scrappy quilts so just use what I have - when I moved into my new sewing room I did sort it by color. I was amazed by the amount I had "stashed" here and there. I do have to buy fabric for sashing occasionally.
My S.O. (who designed my sewing room) says I am not a "Hoarder" unless you can't see the floor. I am not there yet! LOL |
I like the unusual. Have many, many novelties, polka dots and wild prints. Come to think of it, not many I don't like and have!
|
Nice combo!
|
I buy Turguoise, Lavender/Purples, and Pinks. Also Red and Black.
