I bought one to work on a king-sized quilt. Using it was killing my back, so I decided it was easier to just quilt in a hoop on my lap. It still has its uses, though--it's become kind of a permanent fixture in my family room where I can throw whatever quilt I'm working on. My family hates it!

It is for hand quilting or basting. I have one but my sewing room is too small to put it up and leave it all the time. When my son and granddaughter move out again I will put it up in the living room.

It might be as nice item to have, but I don't think you need it to start out with. There are more important tools that you will need

Have one, tried using it once, put it back in box and packed away lol

No,you don't need one. if you want to hand quilt, just use a small hoop you hold on your lap. Then your work can go along with you

I use a large hoop.. that way I can turn it to be able to comfortably quilt any which way.. It's easy to move and easy to put away.. I don't think I'd like a big floor frame...

I have one. I really like it and when I don't have a quilt on it I take it apart and hide it under our bed.

They've been on sale for (guess) 40% off.

I've used mine once to hand quilt a queen size quilt. I enjoyed being able to move it around to take advantage of the light. It's easy to take apart & put back in the box for storing. I bought it at JoAnns.

It does make a great cat trap if you take the clamps off. :-D
