It's not quilted (yet?). I made this wall (window?) hanging last year. All the fabric except for the 'flowers' are hand dyed. The flowers are left over hexagons from another quilt project. I made it to put in a specific spot in my stairwell and while trying it out there, I realized it would just fit in the stairwell window, so I tacked it up and decided not to quilt it because I liked the way the sun came thru to make it look like stained glass. I had tried several window treatments there and did not like any of them. This 'treatment' worked

i think it's perfect!....great idea!

It's like it was made to go there!! :) Could you get a pane of UV protect glass to go behind it? It won't stop the sun from shining through it, but will help protect it a little longer. Maybe?

Its art whether its a quilt or not. I call it painting with fabric :) and I bet it looks very nice when the sun is behind it.
|
Wonderful!!!

it is only 1/8" and has uv protection in it...cuts on table saw, or hd can cut it for you.. it would be lighter & non breakable unlike glass... |

Oh how lovely! It looks amazing, I love your fabrics and design. I've held up quilt tops in progress against the sunlight and loved the effect. Great to see you are actually using one for the purpose!!!! Might give me the courage, too... :D
