Well folks I have spent all evening in my 'special' little evening quilting room, (the loo!!) working on our groups charity quilt. This will be raffled during our exhibition in October.

The blocks were designed by our fantastic embroider/artist Helen, and there are twenty blocks in total, some flowers are the same, but they are all in different fabrics, some of our group have never done applique before, I made one and Elle has done a couple I think, tonight I have quilted in the ditch all the sashings, and a few of our members are going to echo quilt by hand around the flowers.

I think it is sooo pretty!! The green sashing is much brighter, as usual, the pictures don't do the colours justice, I will try and get some sharper pictures in the sunshine tomorrow!!

Mary, the detail in the flowers is quite spectacular, I will try and take some close ups tomorrow in good light so you can see how much effort everyone has put into this quilt, the green is like a bright fern...the backing is a gold marble effect, lovely!!

Ok, just how many tickets do I have to buy to insure I get that? lol
It's beautiful!

Izy 09-11-2008 03:40 AM

Thanks everyone, I can't take much credit as I only did one block and the stitching in the ditching, now it will be forwarded to other members to do all the hand quilting, I will keep you all in the 'picture' as it progresses!!

Now as far as buying tickets....how can we work this, any ideas, as all donations are welcome as long as you would be willing to pay postage return it to you, I don't see why not!! :D

WOW Izy, didnīt think we would have raffle tickets needed for our friends in America. Donīt know how to work it though. :(

It does look really lovely up close and personal. Some of the work is beaded and even though I say it myself its gorgeous. Boo hoo  I canņt go in the raffle as our club isnīt allowed we thought it wouldnīt be fair if one of us got it.

Well, that gives you all a close up of the amount of work that has been put into this quilt :D

If anyone is seriously interested in buying raffles tickets I would have to ask for a volunteer of one of our regulars here on the board, who could possibly collect the fees, and then organise a bank transfer for the total amount into our leaders account. We can advise you all personally (with back up photos) of the tickets issued to each of you and either myself or Elle can hold them for you...just a suggestion, but as always needs organising well so it doesn't get too messy. I appreciate there will be bank transfer fees to consider too, unless anyone else has another idea that will work better....... :D

Karenmay 09-11-2008 07:55 AM

How much are the tickets each Izy?...(I was thinking I could get you euros and send them direct to you) I'd love a chance at winning and even if I didn't, it's all for a good cause is'nt it?

Karen xx

Izy 09-11-2008 07:58 AM

Karen...lol - I don't know yet tee hee!! I will send an email to our leader Rachel, and ask her right now!! :D

Marcia 09-11-2008 09:56 AM

Izy-thanks for taking the close up pics. The work/time/energy that has gone into each and every block is phenomenal. The beadwork alone is awesome! Such a beautiful quilt.

Butterflyspain 09-11-2008 10:04 AM

Hi as Izy is chasing Rachel our esteemed leader I will say thank you to all of you for all your wonderful comments.

Its a big quilt, so now the task of quilting it is in hand, get my turn next week, think 4 of us are having a go at it at the Club, Izy is doing a some at home as well, so we are all getting stuck in on this one.

Did you see my blocks, did you, did you,.......LOL in the first picture mine are the two on the bottom left.
