We all have leftover fabrics. My second passion is making cloth dolls. These are some of my original designs.

Love this! What a great use of leftovers!
I usually end up making doll quilts or pot holders.

Yes I made the faces too! They are all from the same pattern that I designed. It is a whole family of dolls!

Bodies are made of 100% cotton, I hand dyed it to get the skin colors I wanted. My little Australian guy came first, he was in honor of a semester my daughter did in college as an exchange student in Australia after Steve Irwin. The rest of his relatives in my doll family just started showing up. His lazy brother, his other brother that wears the business suit and his sister in law. The family just kept growing!

Another brother that carried the torch in the Olympics

His sister the belly dancer

This was the first doll in the collection

This was a distant relative that is a Jester

tooMuchFabric 09-04-2010 05:25 PM

LOOKATCHOO!!!!
I'm so loving these dolls!!

Annaquilts 09-04-2010 05:26 PM

Oh the second one is too funny. Love all of them! I used to make dolls too but they were cloth Waldorf style dolls for my kids.

SharonAnne 09-04-2010 06:22 PM

Those are great dolls and I'm still smiling even though I can't see them as I write this. Great hairy chest on #2's photo. And the 1st one's hair looks exactly like the neighbor lady's across the street. Wild and crazy. Do they have names? Adoption papers?

stitchinwitch 09-04-2010 06:23 PM

Kathy those are sooooooooooooooo cute! Do you have a shop??

Naturalmama 09-04-2010 06:45 PM

You are brilliant!!! You really should sell them online - etsy or artfire at least!!
