Good luck, I can't wait to see what you do with it!!

This would be my 1st choice too

Don't know if this suits you or not, but I really enjoyed using the pattern "Center Court" that I purchased from a LQS when I didn't want to cut up a piece of fabric. I'll attach a pic so you can see it. As you can see you can compliment the Egyptian fabric with lots of other colored fabric with the blocks and border. I purchased the pattern from the Quilt Haus. Their website is www.quilthaus.com. The owner, Deanne, is the one that designed this pattern.

debcavan 03-19-2011 05:47 AM

The colors are gorgeous. Maybe a strippy quilt so you have long rows of the beautiful print.

rexie 03-19-2011 05:50 AM

How about a King Tut quilt?

Donna P 03-19-2011 06:31 AM

It's beautiful....I would not want to cut it up I'd use it for the backing of a quilt.

My opinion also. Beautiful fabric!

mhansen6 03-19-2011 06:56 AM

I would fussy cut each pattern, there seems to be a lot of repeat. Then do some type of border of each and make a wall hanging. This would be so dramatic as a wall hanging.

ShirlinAZ 03-19-2011 06:58 AM

That's beautiful! You can send some to me. Take a look at the 9-Patch Pizzazz by Judy Sisneros. It would emphasize large cuts of the print and make use of smaller cuts as blenders. It's a really easy quilt to make.

rebeccalr 03-19-2011 07:05 AM

I would pull out 4 to 5 colors from the design and make a quilt of your choice and then use this as the backing. It is a great piece of fabric and I usually don't like fabric with large designs.

QuiltQtrs 03-19-2011 07:06 AM

Would use large pieces (fat quarter size and bigger) and border each with
a narrow black sashing, randomly placing pieces into a long row which
would also have black sashing length of your project. Then pick up the
jewel tones/gold etc. and do a pieced border.

pollym44 03-19-2011 07:08 AM

Awesome fabric. Don't think I could cut it---just stare!

You can't be cutting that up! No way, too neat as it is.

What about a bit of embellishment for a wall hanging. Add some metallic gold things----------maybe a small pyramid, piece of head gear, columns.

Oh, maybe take a part some old jewelry and attach some how.

Here's a link to a pattern called 9-patch pizzaz, by Judy Sisneros. Might be the perfect thing! best of luck. :-)

sewNso 03-19-2011 07:22 AM

you can send it to me, if you don't know what to do with it.

if you decide, you don't want to send it to me.,,,,,, under no circumstances , do not, do not cut it.

BJ SewKkrazzy 03-19-2011 07:28 AM

I love it...I think I would use it as a backing on a quilt with the same colors!

BarbaraFranklin 03-19-2011 07:34 AM

I agree with quilting Cowgirl, very pretty material. ;-)

ljptexas 03-19-2011 07:39 AM

It is truly pretty & colorful!! I wouldn't want to cut it up either. Try to use it so the theme is shown.

Fabulous fabric.

themeemama 03-19-2011 08:06 AM

Best idea I've heard.

BarbaraFranklin 03-19-2011 08:59 AM

I would use it as a theme & then fill in around it.

I really like your ideas. ♥

BarbaraFranklin 03-19-2011 09:10 AM

thank u

joann hussey 03-19-2011 09:52 AM

Just beautiful, I would use it for backing and look for a pattern that you could use the colors in the print to pull it altogether maybe use some of the fabric as a boarder

Tweety2911 03-19-2011 10:32 AM

Gorgeous fabric and would make a great OBW if you had more fabric. I agree with using it as a whole panel also. Whatever you decide will be beautiful.

Sewfine 03-19-2011 11:12 AM

I am just a beginners quilter, but I would use it as a panel.

I received a great piece of fabric several years ago from Bali..actually the night of the bombing my son was in this village looking for some fabric for me and had been taken to this source ran by women. (another story lol) I bordered the fabric..but did not even back it or quilt it..just use it to lay over the back of couch..sometimes on a table..move it around so i see it every day..it may have saved his life

ann clare 03-19-2011 12:28 PM

Stunning fabric. Don't know how you would use it to get the best results.

vickimc 03-19-2011 12:30 PM

colleen53 03-19-2011 12:32 PM

i love this quilt.. great way to use a panel or something you don't want to cut too much.. i just ordered this pattern thanks to you.. wish you could get some store credit for that !...

Ritacarl 03-19-2011 01:22 PM

Why don't you leave it the way it is and put rails up and down say 10 inches apart. Make it look like a window.

pal 03-19-2011 01:48 PM

I'd put it on a really large wooden frame, like you do canvas, and then make lots of pillows for the couch or floor, mixing them with solid colors taken from the fabric.

mshawii 03-19-2011 02:05 PM

I would do one that has at least a 10-12 inch block of this fabric, so you can really see the pattern which is what you really want. Great fabric. Jan

dunngriffith 03-19-2011 02:29 PM

I agree!!

Glad you like the pattern! You're the second one to order it in the last 2 days. Store credit would be nice...lol!

debbieoh 03-19-2011 03:44 PM

WOW WOW beautiful. I sure wouldn't want to cut it up. so I guess I'm no help

Baba71 03-19-2011 03:56 PM

Love the fabric. Where do you go in Moline to make pillow cases? I live in Rock Island and I might be interested in helping out with the project.

roseOfsharon 03-19-2011 03:58 PM

Maybe for borders or make a couple of throw pillows.
