Good luck, I can't wait to see what you do with it!! |

Don't know if this suits you or not, but I really enjoyed using the pattern "Center Court" that I purchased from a LQS when I didn't want to cut up a piece of fabric. I'll attach a pic so you can see it. As you can see you can compliment the Egyptian fabric with lots of other colored fabric with the blocks and border. I purchased the pattern from the Quilt Haus. Their website is www.quilthaus.com. The owner, Deanne, is the one that designed this pattern.

The colors are gorgeous. Maybe a strippy quilt so you have long rows of the beautiful print.
How about a King Tut quilt?
It's beautiful....I would not want to cut it up I'd use it for the backing of a quilt.

I would fussy cut each pattern, there seems to be a lot of repeat. Then do some type of border of each and make a wall hanging. This would be so dramatic as a wall hanging.
That's beautiful! You can send some to me. Take a look at the 9-Patch Pizzazz by Judy Sisneros. It would emphasize large cuts of the print and make use of smaller cuts as blenders. It's a really easy quilt to make.
I would pull out 4 to 5 colors from the design and make a quilt of your choice and then use this as the backing. It is a great piece of fabric and I usually don't like fabric with large designs.
Would use large pieces (fat quarter size and bigger) and border each with
a narrow black sashing, randomly placing pieces into a long row which would also have black sashing length of your project. Then pick up the jewel tones/gold etc. and do a pieced border. |
Awesome fabric. Don't think I could cut it---just stare!

What about a bit of embellishment for a wall hanging. Add some metallic gold things----------maybe a small pyramid, piece of head gear, columns. Oh, maybe take a part some old jewelry and attach some how. |
Here's a link to a pattern called 9-patch pizzaz, by Judy Sisneros. Might be the perfect thing! best of luck. :-)

you can send it to me, if you don't know what to do with it.
if you decide, you don't want to send it to me.,,,,,, under no circumstances , do not, do not cut it. |
I love it...I think I would use it as a backing on a quilt with the same colors!
I agree with quilting Cowgirl, very pretty material. ;-)
It is truly pretty & colorful!! I wouldn't want to cut it up either. Try to use it so the theme is shown.

Fabulous fabric.
Best idea I've heard.
I would use it as a theme & then fill in around it.

thank u
Just beautiful, I would use it for backing and look for a pattern that you could use the colors in the print to pull it altogether maybe use some of the fabric as a boarder
Gorgeous fabric and would make a great OBW if you had more fabric. I agree with using it as a whole panel also. Whatever you decide will be beautiful.
I am just a beginners quilter, but I would use it as a panel.

I received a great piece of fabric several years ago from Bali..actually the night of the bombing my son was in this village looking for some fabric for me and had been taken to this source ran by women. (another story lol) I bordered the fabric..but did not even back it or quilt it..just use it to lay over the back of couch..sometimes on a table..move it around so i see it every day..it may have saved his life
Stunning fabric. Don't know how you would use it to get the best results.

Why don't you leave it the way it is and put rails up and down say 10 inches apart. Make it look like a window.
I'd put it on a really large wooden frame, like you do canvas, and then make lots of pillows for the couch or floor, mixing them with solid colors taken from the fabric.
I would do one that has at least a 10-12 inch block of this fabric, so you can really see the pattern which is what you really want. Great fabric. Jan

I agree!!

WOW WOW beautiful. I sure wouldn't want to cut it up. so I guess I'm no help

Love the fabric. Where do you go in Moline to make pillow cases? I live in Rock Island and I might be interested in helping out with the project.
Maybe for borders or make a couple of throw pillows.
