My brain is in a fog today. Went shopping for fabric to back this quilt and miscalculated (again) and only bought 8 yards and I needed 9. I bought all there was on the bolt. Oh well will use it for another quilt.
This quilt was a Quilters Club of America Mystery quilt and was fun and easy to make. I am sure to do this pattern again. |
Very nice!
Great looking quilt!
Very Sharp looking quilt! I am sorry you had a bad shopping experiance today. I just hate it when that happens.
Great mystery quilt!
Nicely done!
Those colors look beautiful together. Nice quilt.
love the way you used the white-white and light gray on the stars--it makes the stars just glow.
Lovely, lovely quilt. Love how the stars glow
Beautiful!
Sorry about your calculations but the quilt is fantastic worth another shop.
Very nice!
Piece your back using what you purchased and any left over fabric you have. |
Wow, that is beautiful!
This is a simple but extremely effective pattern! Someone is going to love it. It is the colors of our local high school, where it would make a great fund raiser. Hmm Maybe I'll have to do one.
I love anything with stars. Yours is great. Hope it goes to someone in the military or more importantly a VA hospital.
very nice.
I agree with gingerd - piece the back with leftover fabric to make your purchased fabric work.
Very pretty! I love red, white and blue quilts.
Love it! Very pretty!
I love it!
Wow, this quilt is very striking!! Seems like the stars are shimmering. Love the pattern and you did a wonderful job.
Usually that is when I start using the fabric leftovers on the back.
Someone will be thrilled to receive such a lovely quilt.
Which mystery was this quilt? Love your choice of colors....
Love the red, white, and blue. Great quilt!
great quilt. John Flynn has a diagonal cut quilt back that uses less fabric... check it out http://www.multi-patch.com/html/diagonal_backing_calculator.php
This star is a favorite of mine and you did it justice... thanks for sharing
Very nice!! Wish my points looked that great!! One day
beautiful stars!!! look at all those perfect points too!! beautiful work.
Fantastic quilt. Wishing I had joined Quilter's Club before this pattern came out. Maybe I'll join now.
Beautiful. As for making the backing fit I would add leftover fabrics to enlarge it.
What about extending your purchased fabric with some of the fabrics from the back?
Oops. I meant more from the fabric used on the front.
I love star quilts and this one is quite unusual and beautiful with it's unique block setting. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful, love the colors
very bold!
I love it!
Thank you all for your kind words and tips for the backing. I already ordered backing fabric from a local quilt shop and am patiently waiting for it. Quilter's Club of America will be holding another mystery "Mystery Quilt #12 in a few weeks and Connecting Threads is starting one tomorrow. I signed up for both and will use the fabric for those. I do love these mysterys it keeps me motivated and they go for good charitable causes. A win win for us both.
Very nice quilt! You did a great job.
