Finally finished hand quilting a double knit quilt. the top was given to me last year and I put it together and use double knit material on the back. Quilted it so the back stitching looked like the front and I stenciled flowers in the corners of the squares and hand quilted the border using a stencil with pounce powder. Double knit was easy to work with for hand stitching. Top of the quilt was hand sewn by a friend of my family and asked me if I would like to have it and finish it. It really came out nicely. Use double knit material on the back.

You did a great job. That looks so professional, maybe you are an expert. You did great anyway. I love it.
Oh that is just too lovely! I can see how knit fabric would be easy to work with too. You sure did a fine job on the quilting and I just love the colors!
Beautiful job! i think I like the back almost more than the front
Cool quilt. Great job.
Very pretty Applique work, and your quilting is beautiful :D:D:D
What a beautiful quilt...I always wondered how "double knit" worked out..now I know - Thanks.
It was easy to work with as it gives enough to quilt without stretching.
the quilt was already appliqued from years before, I just had to finish it . I am not good at applique but just quilting around the flowers was easy. Needed the flowers in the corners and I added little plastic flower buttons in the middle of the flowers that I got at Joann's on sale. The think the quilt top is about 50 years old and the squares are all hand sewn to together. Glad it is finished so I can work on another quilt.
That's gorgeous!!!! Did you use batting??
Wow, I think that's the nicest doubleknit quilt I've seen. Great colors.
Both front and back are WOW!

Hi, I was given a "bunch" (boxes) of material that is double knit material. Do you have any 'special' rules for sewing a double knit quilt? Some of the material is beautiful.
I never saw that pattern it looks really nice very eye appealing.
