Joy, I am amazed, astounded and inspired by this quilt, mostly because you have only been longarming for a mere 6 months?!?! That is a real wow to me. I don't think a longarmer with years of experience could have done a better job.

What is your secret to getting your continuous curves uniform? I seem to be having alot of trouble with those. Some swoop way in and others barely have any curve at all. Do you put a reference mark for the deepest part of the curve like a dot? Or do you simply use the width of the hopping foot? Right now I am trying to do it freehand with no marking.

I did mine all freehand - and believe me they are not all uniform. I got lots better by the end of the quilt - so I'd say practice has more to do with it than anything else. I tried to do a smooth arc and have it be the width of the hopping foot in the middle of each arc. I've also found that moving my body - rather than my arms seems to help make things a bit smoother, too. But mostly it's just practice. I had just finished a large one before this one that was mostly continuous curves, so between that one and this one they gave me plenty of practice.

Wow and Wow! That sounds like an awful lot of work but your finished quilt is so absolutely beautiful. it takes the breath away.

OMG that is beautiful! Did you hand quilt it or was it machine quilted? I have one "in waiting" to be finished but need to get it basted because it's getting harder & harder for me to get down on the floor & do that. But yours is absolutely beautiful. You have a lot to be proud of
