Double Wedding Ring Quilt - top done!

1 Attachment(s)
Well ladies and gentlemen, I have to say, I have impressed even myself!!!

I have finished the top - it's not ironed, but I'm so happy with how it turned out that I have to show it off!

I have just emailed my friend recommending a border of the burgundy fabric to tie it all together, and waiting to see what she says!

Thanks for looking,

Double Wedding Ring is one of my favorite patterns. Nice job! I hope you'll post a photo of the finished project.

wildwoodflower12390 08-08-2016 05:37 AM

Going to be beautiful, love the colors.

GailG 08-08-2016 06:06 AM

A maroon border would be beautiful. Or perhaps a narrow maroon border with a wider print of the "peachy" fabric.

Jordan 08-08-2016 08:10 AM

That turned out great. Love it.

Doggramma 08-08-2016 10:15 AM

Beautiful! That pop of pink really keeps the eye moving around the quilt

ManiacQuilter2 08-08-2016 12:53 PM

Congrats on getting this difficult quilt finished!

Just Jan 08-08-2016 12:59 PM

Very Nice! I'd add a narrow white border first, to float the rings, then the burgundy border and burgundy binding. You should be very proud of it! What size is it? What is the size of an individual block?

MarionsQuilts 08-08-2016 04:15 PM

So I went with the burgundy border. She didn't wNt more white lol. It measures 56x56 inches

thanks all. I learned some new things with this quilt, which helps me with me New Years resolution: harder quilts lol

BrendaK 08-08-2016 05:17 PM

You did a wonderful job, it's lovely. BrendaK

djmat 08-09-2016 12:09 AM

Yes, burgundy will make it pop. I love it!

jmoore 08-09-2016 02:34 AM

Marion, congrats on your first DWR...it looks wonderful.

Raggiemom 08-09-2016 04:38 AM

Looks great, I keep thinking about one of these but haven't done it yet! Can't wait to see the border you use.

ontheriver 08-09-2016 04:43 AM

It's great and I think the burgundy border will go very well, especially if it is the same fabric as in the dark squares.

mjmachin 08-09-2016 05:40 AM

Great job! I love the color combinations. You can be very proud of this. Let us see it when it is finished.

Taughtby Grandma 08-09-2016 05:49 AM

Awesome! I like the idea of burgandy for the border.

jamsbuying 08-09-2016 08:34 AM

Very pretty!

EmiliasNana 08-09-2016 09:21 AM

WOW......great job. I have yet to work up the nerve. Would you do another? or was it a never again project? LOL

MarionsQuilts 08-09-2016 11:54 AM

I would do another one!! Once you get the hang of it, it's easy. Lol. Painstaking but easy.

I did mine in sections. I needed 48 arcs so I did all 48 at once. Then I joined them all to the ovals. The first two are always slower, but then you get the hang of it and then you're just flying through them.

It takes longer to pin everything then it does to sew it lol

maviskw 08-09-2016 02:05 PM

I guess you have it done, but here's my opinion anyway.
I would have put a very narrow burgundy border, a same size white border and then a large border of either burgundy or your print if you had enough.

cjackaitlin 08-09-2016 03:22 PM

Awesome quilt, just love this pattern. On my list also, was it very hard to do? Thanks for sharing. Mary
