Dragonfly Garden is the official title of this pattern, but by the end, I had renamed it: "My-love-hate relationship with 1/4' bias tape. Actually when I finally got to sewing the binding with a double needle, it turned back into a love affair.

A fair sized piece, all fabric was fused to fusible web, cut out, and then placed on a muslin backing, and finally the bias tape was afixed.

More batiks. Just love them, can't get enough lately. Made this right after I did Wildflower Garden.

I agree with all the comments, it is absolutely stunning. I love it. I'm sure it would make me nuts to do it. I like instant gratification. That would take too long for me to do.

This is gorgeous. Love your batik choices for it. I have never tried my hand at stained glass but have always admired the look of it.

I also am a Big fan of dragonflies ... It is just beautiful!

paintmejudy 08-10-2010 08:04 AM

Yes, Janice4, but not traditional applique - fused with fusible web to a muslin background and then the 1/4" bias tape is sewn down over the seams. The pattern was from Three Swans Studios and had instructions for using fusible web and hand applique www.threeswans.com
