I posted a thread the other day in the main section about I finally learned to stipple after many attempts and potholders and Paper. The quilt is finished now and it is for my Mother's 100th birthday. It is not until August but I go out of town for the summer. I will be giving her a BD party. I have to make a label for it next. I can quilt my own quilts now instead of by check. Thanks again for all the encourage meant. Oh I noticed something about my stippling and wondered if anyone else noticed this for themselves. I can make the loops better one way than the other. I also noticed my mouth moves funny when i was quilting.

Suzanne, this is just beautiful. I love the fabrics, great colors! What a gift for your mum's 100th birthday. She will love it! And congrats on the quilting...I am still quilting by check but I'm hoping to make the transition soon!
great job and i am sure your mum will love it
because of being disabled and a check would not finish a quilt i have been doing free motion for a number of years but it will always seem my first quilt was the best. now you can enjoy the great savings in the check book |
Very beautiful quilt and yes about the mouth moving funny! At least mine does!!
very nicely done... and happy 100th to mom
yep, going one way is always easier than going the opposite. and the tongue thing is normal too! Cute quilt!!!

Beautiful quilt. She's sure to love it! I also have smoother lines in quilting one way from the other. I don't know about the holding my mouth funny but I do hum amazing grace sometimes when FMQing as it seem to help with the rhythm of my hands. :) Good job on your stippling. The quilting looks lovely.

What a double blessing - your beautiful quilt for your mother and her 100th birthday!
luvstoquilt ask if the pattern was mine. Design is Nancy Zieman's however, I made my middle border larger and I added the tumbler border. So do I have to put her name on my label? The quilt in her booklet it call blue and purple Dresden.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments and I will tell my Mom at her party how many quilters from this board said. Happy Birthday. |
Your quilt is beautiful. Your mother is going to love it. Love your colors. I think we all do some sort of movement with all our body parts when we're concentrating on and project.

Just beautiful! Your mom will love it for sure. That is fantastic that your mom is turning 100. That doesn't happen too often.
Very pretty. Congrats to your Mom, 100 years i a very long time.
Beautiful.Wonderfully done in all aspects. I am so happy for you about your quilting. I am finding stippling is going to one that bugs the dickens out of me.I see you asked about whether to include Ms.Zieman's name due to the quilt pattern and your altering it some. A thought about how to do that would be simply to say "Your interpretation of " then her name for her dresden pattern. Congrats to you on this beautiful quilt, and to your mom for her beauty gracing the world 100 years.

Sewingsuz, I just fell in love with your quilt. I'm not a fan (I know so many are), of the Dresden patterns. But this just knocked my socks off. Your work is always great, but this is just wonderful. Now I feel like I might be ready to give it a go. Thank you for sharing. Your mother will love this quilt.
