A while back Joanie posted a picture of this quilt she quilted for me, here it is with the yo-yo's do you think with or without looks better???
Thank you. Top close up |
You'd have to align them dead center or they'll look "off" and be a distraction, IMO.

Looks fabulous as is! Great job!

Beautiful quilt-my vote would be without-it is stunning with its "traditionalism" and lovely quilting-doesn't need the extra. Just my opinion
I woldn't add them. Although pretty yoyos, they sort of look like you just stuck something in the space. Let the beautiful quilt stand along. It will!
Very beautiful quilt! But I do agree that without the yoyos the quilt is great! The yoyos are cute but a bit distracting on this particular quilt.
Being a yo-yo fan, love the placement of these on the quilt! Adds some character! :-)
I like it without the yoyo's. I think they take away from the beautiful fans and the quilting. They look a little like an afterthought. Love your quilt, btw.
Gorgeous quilt and I vote no yo-yo's. Takes away from the quilt itself.
Keep it tradition without the yoyos. It is a beautiful quilt!
The eye is drawn to the yo yos & detracts from the beautiful work of your plates - I'd opt not to use them.
The quilt is beautiful without the yoyos.
It's a beautiful quilt but I think I would do without the yoyos. Just my opinion. :-)
No yo-yo's wins!!!! Thank you, guess this saves me alot of sewing. Thanks everyone.
I think without. Doesn't need anything extra. Gorgeous quilt!
Beautiful quilt! Great job.
Beautiful quilt. I have never liked yo yo's but if you do then put them on there.
I think without. It detracts from the beautiful job you did on the Dresden corners. I love it.
No YoYo's.....It's beautiful
I am an avid embellisher, but I think the Suffolk puffs (yoyos) detract from the elegance of the Dresden design.
My vote...without. Beautiful quilt already.
The quilt is beautiful, I'd say without.
Its beautiful!
I have seen other DPquilts with a bullseye pieced at the intersections of the plate blocks and they add to the quilt IMO. I think the yo-yos would work if their center is centered over the intersection of the 4 blocks and that would not be very hard to do.
love it any way you do it
OH, I love it.......dresden plates and yo-yo's - how wonderful is that....SUPER!!!!
Without. It is beautiful!
I like yo-yos but not on this beautiful quilt; they look like an afterthought.
This quilt is stunning. The yo yos are a no go for me.
That quilt is a beauty and I'm glad you made the no yo-yo decision.
I like it without the yo=yo's
I'd say without.
Beautiful quilt !!!
I too am a big fan of yo-yo's, but I would leave them off this quilt, it is beautiful without them. Maybe put them on a pillow made from some of the leftover quilt fabric.
great quilt - if you want the yoyo's, use them as centers for the dresden plates.
What a great quilt!
Thanks so much everyone for all your help, it's a no yo-yo quilt for sure!
Love the quilt. I would choose not to use the yo-yos. They are a distraction to the beautiful plates.
without is my vote as well, very beautiful quilt
Beautiful quilt. Love the yoyo's!
