Easter quilt "Risen"
2 Attachment(s)
Was planning to raffle this at church for Easter but the church was shut down. We made masks and sold them instead. In the midst of the pandemic, our priest of 12 years was reassigned. So I decided this would make a nice going away/ getting ready to retire quilt. When I cut out the pieces, I cut double of everything. Maybe one day im have a quilt of my own! This is only my 15th quilt I've completedbut I still do not have one of my own. I started quilting in order to make for someone else... and continue doing sho.

That's a wow!! I love it!

What a beautiful demonstration of your skills. And such a good idea to gift it to your priest. It will be such a lovely holder of memories of his stay with your community. Now, make one for yourself. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/hunf.png

Beautiful design and colors. Now make one for you. Great idea to cut two quilts when you started the project!

Lovely quilt.

That is one beautiful quilt!

Just gorgeous and what an appropriate gift for your pastor. I, agree, everyone needs to have one of their own quilts, but somehow they are always on the back burner as we continue to quilt for others. Someday, someday..........

ery unique |
This is a very beautiful quilt and I am sure your pastor loves it. Make the time to make one for yourself. I know years ago I made a quilt that expressed bible blocks for a priest friend of mine and like you I did enough to make one for myself. I eventually made the quilt and then put it away and lost it for years. I looked for it from time to time and it wasn't until about a year ago that I found it. I kept telling myself "did I give this one away too?" Just so glad I kept on for myself. Make it for yourself and keep it where you can always find it. Again this is a very beautiful quilt

Very beautiful quilt and very appropriate gift for your Priest. Now it is time for you to make a quilt for yourself. It will be so satisfying to have a quilt of your own and enjoy.
|
Love your quilt. Did you have a pattern or just make it up yourself. Would like to make one for my church.
|
Your quilt is gorgeous!

That's an amazing variation of LC!!!
Now make one for you! :) |
Lovely project with lovely thoughts behind it.
But yes, I'm agreeing with the others, put yourself on the list and give yourself a quilt. After decades of quilting I realized that all my own quilts were in pretty gross tatters and not worth showing (I'm still using them though!). Eventually the goal is for me to have one themed quilt for each month of the year. I think I'm about 4-5 months finished, 4-5 months done/not quilted, and 3 in just yardage collections. Still might take me another 20 years, but I'm on the list! |
Lovely quilt! Do take time to make a quilt for yourself. You deserve it! :)
|
