Easter table decoration..

I'm still waiting for my pattern for fold and stitch it should be here sometime next week, but I was in a hurry to try and make some for Easter,
I tried to figure out how to make them by looking at the wreaths posted here but I didn't have much luck with that. I seen someone posted a tutorial video on fold and stitch and went there it wasn't the same pattern as fold and stitch, after watching the video the light went on and here is what I ended up with.. They are a little different, I think the trim is a little wider then in the original pattern, if you want to see the video it is called Origami Candle Mat, you can do a search and it will come up, but as I said it is a little different.. i am still waiting to get the pattern then I can compare and see the difference.. Anyway here are mine they came out ok, I'm happy with them.. Thanks for looking

They turned out quite cute. What you will find is a skinnier "applique". When you get your pattern, you will understand what I mean.

Very pretty.

gramquilter2 03-20-2016 02:27 PM

They turned out great. How did you get your centers so small?

quiltlady1941 03-20-2016 03:16 PM

This was not the fold and stitch pattern, it was one on the intent on you tube and it was called Origami Candle Mats. The fold and stitch is different as it has a appliqué to get the trim look, the Origami Candle Mat you sew a 1.5 trim piece to a smaller square all around, and sew around both squares and leave a small part owned and turn, I think the fold and stitch pattern you sew the squares together turn them, and then iron on a smaller square and stitch around it, like raw edge appliqué, at least that is what my friend said, I should get my pattern on Monday or Tuesday so will see how it is done. I just wanted to get some done so I could get them in the mail, so my friends got them before Easter. Have a look at the you tube video, there fun to make and don't take a lot of fabric..
