Do you know when this fabric will be available?
It should be available in May; possibly June, if the maker is running late. Kaufman is usually pretty good about being on time.
Love Maxine.
Great for those rice heating bags, Covers for hot water bottles. I think they'd make cute sewing room curtains and machine covers.
My name is Maxine & I may have to make myself a quilt with those fabrics! I want to be like her when I "grow up"!
Maxine |
Maxine is one of my favorite characters, she says what some other people think, but don't say; she is 'real', down to earth and a HOOT! I think this will be a hit! I collect cartoons or her and when I need a laugh, I get them all out and soon, I'm giggling...
YES ! YES ! I love her ! I have a email friend from AL. that sends me everything on her - then last year my mom started lookin' like her - yikes-the glasses, the hat. LOL
The fabric is on my WIST LIST |
OMG!!! I would definetly buy that fabric even if I have to starve for a week or two. I just love Maxine and I would make a lap quilt and some wall hangings for some friends of mine. Well, since it won't be out until May/June I can start saving now so I can buy a bolt of a few of the fabrics.

Maxine...depends on the person. I always thought she was funny until I took a class on Geriatrics in college. The professor used that comic as an example of "ageism", which is akin to racism. We make fun of the challenges of growing older in our society and by doing that, we become more immune to the insults and downgrading of people. Many older people start to feel invisible, and I think this sort of thing leads to that. For many people, this is probably overthinking a "funny" comic strip, but we can all think back to some of the old comics that portrayed African-American or Native Americans in a less than flattering light, with the intent of being "funny". If we saw them now, we'd be appalled.
So, I won't be buying any Maxine...even though I chuckle when one is put in front of me...I still work hard to train my mind about the long-term effects of this sort of humor. |

i love maxine but not sure i would ever use the fabric..hmm somthing to ponder-thanks for sharing.
I think maybe wall hangings???
I love Maxine! She says all the things we think! I would probably not make a quilt--well, maybe I would. My DDs would love it. I would make a wall hanging for my sewing room and I, too, think it would be great for totes.

I love Maxine, but don't know what I would do with this fabric.
I LOVE Maxine and would buy the fabric. Humor ..she can say things I think but would never say. I would make a bag out of her fabric. A "Hoot"!!
Maybe it'll look good in something like a 'stack & whack' or a one block wonder.... really, you know there's some one out there that's praying someon will make a Maxine quilt for her to snuggle under while she reads a romance novel LOL!!
Love it, will likely even pay the price for some of it. I will be making me a tote bag out of it!!
I lOVE Maxine!! I would buy some ! Who sells it?? char
I love her! (But I am certainly glad I don't live with her!)
I think I'll get a panel and fussy cut some of the squares to use as labels on some quilts. I can also see it as a backing on some kind of quilt that I'll have to figure out!  |
I have always loved Maxine, and love the fabric, but doubt that I would buy it, because I just don't know what I would use it for and I already have enough fabric that I couldn't live without and now don't no what I will do with.
These would make great totes, albumn covers etc. Perhaps a vest?
I don't really care for this....
Love the fabric, and will buy it "just because".
I can't help it, I love Maxine. I'm 79 yrs old and so much of it throws some fun at life's problems. I'd like to make a wall hanging for my sewing area just to get a few laughs when I'm getting frustrated with how things are going.
I love Maxine. She's been around for a long time and so have I.
Backing, great idea! char
Love Maxine and some of this fabric will find its way into my home whether I want it to or not. We know she does what SHE wants. Look forward to it. IMO it will be a big seller.
Love it!!! Can't wait to buy it---my sister ADORES Maxine!
I most definately would buy that line of fabric. I'm a huge Maxine fan and so are my friends so I can see myself making lap quilts as Christmas gifts for them.
Maxine always speaks to me. |
MAXINE is created by a man and the characters are influences he had in his life growing up around women like Maxine. GG
She must be popular because Dakota has an embroidery design pack just for her.
I don't know I'd make a quilt out of Maxine but I could sure see sewing machine covers, totes of all sizes, checkbook covers, and even a few fussy cut and put around my sewing room in frames. Love her boldness.

When my daughter went off to college, I was thrilled to pick my choice of toothpaste. One day I went to brush my teeth and found that my hubby had rolled the tube (I am a scruncher). I was so mad! Not that I really cared! But after years of letting my daughter pick the toothpaste, I finally had my own (my hubby had different) - and then my hubby messed with it! I told my friend I had yelled at him "but it is MY toothpaste", when he asked what was wrong (he really was just trying to be helpful). Ever since then she and I have traded Maxine jokes becuase she just seems to say what we (normally - when we are sane, or when others don't mess with our toothpaste) - can't say. I only have a million projects at the top of my "to do" list, but I may just have to buy the fabric at least! Just her name can make me giggle, becuase I know some of her quips by heart. |
Maxine was my DH 's administrative assisant or her twin. Shirley was so much like Maxine but we all loved her dearly.
I love Maxine. She reminds me of one of my Aunts--tell it like it is.

I like Maxine and enjoy reading her quips. One thing about this lady (or her author) is that she is honest and tells it blunt and tells it like it is on most subjects. I probably would use her on projects (tote bag) other than quilts. The individual pictures would be kind of "busy" on the quilt patterns. As you all know, I am just a beginner and would not know how to use the cartoons.
