I had the week off from work--and my goal was to finish these, except for hand sewing the binding. Since we're having a major winter storm right now, it canceled my plans to visit my daughter at college for her 21st birthday! :| So, I watched the wind/snow from my quilting room and kept plugging away at these. I'm not allowing myself to start the next project until these are done. There are several other quilts (not pictured) that need the binding hand sewed too.

I have many photos, so please be patient. You've seen the tops--so no surprises there.

Love them!
And good on you for finishing them up!
I've made a new rule for myself, I can only have 2 UFOs at a time. One that I'm piecing and one that's being quilted. I could very easily be side-tracked into having a zillion tops around but no quilts! I'm sticking to it...I mean it :)

LovingIzabella 02-25-2011 11:12 AM

Absolutely beautiful as always!!!! I have to try those horses..I love love horses and these are just beautiful!

I think that was from Wal-Mart years ago??? I'm not sure! I bought it when I was making Talk-About-Quilts--it was a long time ago. I love it for baby quilts!

I am just wild about your Log Cabin design. It looks like a stone wall with espalaide flowers controlled yet cascading. Do honor yourself by keeping that one for your own.

Raggiemom 02-25-2011 03:27 PM

Wow, you've been busy and doing a fantastic job.

Aww--that's so sweet of you, but..it's a gift for a very sweet neighbor. She's in FL now, but when she returns in spring, it will go up on her wall. :-D I will make several more! (eventually!)

The twins' quilts will get finished first, then the floral log cabin.

Thinking Outside the Block and Horse Stalls #2 will be picked up in May for a horse rescue auction. Harriet said she will put their pictures in the newsletter and sell tickets all summer for a fall auction. I hope to add some pillowcases too. I donated two pillowcases and three small table toppers last year and she said they made over $100 on them and the people wanted more. ;) :-D So, I hope to donate to them every year. The other two horse stalls are for sale. I'm asking my quilter about a fair price.

I have really fallen for that doll quilt, so I may have to keep that one to hang in my quilting room. Of course I can make many more...and I shall. :-D

Wonderful work!! I really want to make a flower fabric quilt, but am having trouble finding the right fabric, yours turned out so very nice!

I've been collecting them for a while now... I have over 70 to choose from for every strip. That makes it easier. My advice is to just buy a little of ones you like and keep collecting--then it'll be beautiful. :-D Oh--try to not choose ones where the background is in too much of a contrast to the flowers--like a white background with dark flowers or a dark background with light flowers. Leave those in the store.

p38flygirl 02-25-2011 05:15 PM

Don't you feel wonderful now that you finished so many projects....
