When El Burns first started out doing videos she had a bag for scraps and they told her to just get rid of it so she threw them over her shoulder, it is now her trademark. She talks about it in one of her videos but dont remember which one.
She is by far the best teacher. Her methods are foolproof.

Justquilting 05-18-2009 10:34 AM

Very, very nice!! Your right Loretta...her voice drives me crazy too. but love her quilts!!

Izy 05-18-2009 10:48 AM

Now I thought it was just me who found her voice irritating  :D I do find her techniques fascinating and useful so you just have to put up with the voice don't ya!! :D

I love it! Is the pattern posted somewhere or in a book? I don't have any of her books and lost my job so $ is tight.

RedGarnet222 05-18-2009 02:59 PM

Hey cathie! This is really a nice quilt. I love pink lemonaid. LOL!

Qarena 05-18-2009 03:22 PM

Love the soft colors and the rose block. 18 1/2 inch block. That's what I call a quick quilt. Beautiful!!

Evelynquilts 05-18-2009 04:31 PM

I have the pattern, now you have inspired me to make it.... 8)

Dorothy of Kansas 05-18-2009 05:02 PM

Eleanor Burns used to be an elementary school teacher for the lower grades, so she continues to talk as though we are Kindergarterners!! lol Some of my friends would watch her show, but turn the volume down and just WATCH what she did. I've met her and she's a wonderful, warm person. She has a store in San Marcos, CA, not far from San Diego. Her books are excellent, especially for beginners. Which book is the Pink Lemonade in???

estherblair 05-18-2009 05:09 PM

Thanks eveyone...:-)...Yes the pattern is in the "Quilt through the Seasons"....If you can afford just one of her books it well worth what you pay.....and you can get the book on sale on EBay....or some other discount place.....she is also on Tv Quilt in a Day program.....you can tape...Or possibly go to the Library.....I go there often......:-)

I don't intentionally through my pieces...but some days it looks that way....:-).....I kinda like hereing her voice....it cracks me up.....and you can tell she is talking to young kids...guess that's why I like her it's plain simple English....:-)....

Thanks again for your kind words...makes me fell all warm inside....:-)....
