A tip, too late I know, from Dawn Cameron Dick. When sewing fabric on the bias, put the bias side down to the feet dogs, they stop the fabric from stretching.

Lovely quilt. Just a tip. When adding the setting triangles, place them so that the straight of grain is on the outside and the bias edges are sewn to the blocks. It helps to keep the stretching in check.

Thank you ! It is never to late for a tip that can help. I did some of them that way do to the multiple stitched lines the triangles connected too. Got a bit more difficult as it got larger. Something I will be sure to take note of & use on the next one with bias cuts :)

Thank you. These were 60 degree triangles with the top point notched off. The straight of grain line had to be sewn to the octagon first on two separate sides to make the block into a rhombi shaped block.

I could see where it would make a big difference with a balanced triangle & I will make note of this helpful tip as well for the future.

Quilting is a learning process & I am so greatful for the wealth of knowledge others here are willing to share on this forum. I learn something new daily :)
