My latest quilt top. This is a free Moda Bake Shop pattern. After smoothing it out on the design wall I saw I really need to redo two of the triangles on the bottom row (took the picture anyway). This was the most challenging I have done up to this point with all the bias edges it was a bugger to keep from stretching the blocks, even with a ton of starch. It was still a lot of fun to make.
Thanks for looking :) A tip, too late I know, from Dawn Cameron Dick. When sewing fabric on the bias, put the bias side down to the feet dogs, they stop the fabric from stretching. |
Lovely quilt. Just a tip. When adding the setting triangles, place them so that the straight of grain is on the outside and the bias edges are sewn to the blocks. It helps to keep the stretching in check.

HappyQuilter my avatar quilt is done by Thimbleblossom Patterns, who is one of the designers for Bonnie & Camille fabrics, it is called Spools, done in Marmalade. There is a better picture in my photo album. |

I could see where it would make a big difference with a balanced triangle & I will make note of this helpful tip as well for the future. Quilting is a learning process & I am so greatful for the wealth of knowledge others here are willing to share on this forum. I learn something new daily :) |
Lovely quilt. Like the pattern and choice of colour very much
