Love your story, I know how blessed you are, both of my children are adopted also, she’s a lucky girl and you are lucky yo have her.
i would have never guessed that sharpie would do that, hope some of the suggestions work, it’s a beautiful quilt. |

Well, Darren, it's been about a year since you started this thread. Were you able to get the Sharpie out, and what did you use??? Inquiring minds, and hapless quilters want to know!! Emmaline is sure cute- does she know that she is a star over here at the Quiltingboard, or have you tried to keep her fame from spoiling her? ;)

This one has a long story. In summer 2012, before we had a clue we were to become parents in a few short months, we ordered a group of fabrics from Connecting Threads called Technicolor Tidings. Is also stalled on the quilting because I didn't want to do a panto, but I couldn't decide what to do. If the quilt looks familiar it's because I posted some pics asking for quilting suggestions. I got some good ones and use s some of the. This quilt has been on the frame for literally months. I just finished the binding tonight. I found the Connecting Threads catalog we ordered the fabrics from. Check out the prices! Attachment 619838 This is the pattern we used. Attachment 619839 Here is the back. Attachment 619840 Use hairspray very generously then rinse with cold water repeat until it is gone then wash on gentle delicate cycle. I tried to quilt through paper and transferred sharpie into the quilt to when I pulled off the paper. Any suggestions on how to get it out? Try hair spray or Oxi Clean. The quilt is very cute and colorful, great job. I love the story of Emmaline and how she became your daughter. So special and your family is truly blessed. Merry Christmas!

You might like to try hand sanitizer! It worked for me when I did exactly the same thing. That darn sharpie drawing takes a really long time to completely dry. Strongly suggest that you make a mess with the sharpie on a scrap of fabric first and try to remove that before trying it on the quilt. I originally found the tip online (sorry I can't recall where). It did not specify a particular brand - hence the testing. Best of luck from here in Australia.

I remember reading somewhere that hair spray will take out ball-point pen. Perhaps it will work on the sharpie.
