It took her 6 years to hand piece all the octagons. She would spend nights awake, remembering all her fabrics, and trying to decide what would coordinate. As she finished a flower, she would put it in a wicker basket to stay flat. Her 88 year old mother cut all the yellow and green shapes, and did the hand binding. She had a quilt group hand quilt it. She brought one of the Carousel Horses she had made about 34 years ago. We posted a sign asking people to find the fabric of the horse on the quilt. 6 years...wow....if I have to work on a quilt more then 3 weeks...it drives me batty....She did a wonderful job. Love the horse too.
