EOD Quilt

3 Attachment(s)
I made this quilt during our son's last deployment. He is an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) tech and a big supporter of the Annual EOD Memorial Fundraiser. While making this, I assumed that it would be donated to that good cause as a raffle item. But my wonderful group of quilting friends suggested I give it to him as a gift, then leave it up to him. He surprised me by deciding to keep it for himself and has it hanging in his office on base.

Very nice job. Beautiful!!!

That's really beautiful! How did you make the squares? Is it appliqué, embroidery or a panel? I agree with your friends. That one is too special to raffle off. Make another quilt for next years raffle. This one is where it belongs!
My friends son is EOD out now on his 3rd deployment. That's one crazy job they have! Praying for his safety and your peace of mind.

Very, very nice quilt! He sure is proud of it, as he should be. I'm glad he kept it for himself and is displaying it for everyone to see. They'll know how wonderful a mother he has. Yes, make one for next year to raffle. If it's this nice, he might be tempted to keep it, also. Ha ha.

The 8 outer squares were fussy cut from a panel. The center block with the EOD crab and letters, I created to match the other squares and represent what he does.
