During my lunch hour yesterday I skimmed through a couple quilting magazines and found this scrappy quilt. I’ve been trying to find a quilt design that would make use of all the greens I bought for my boyfriend’s quilt. So during my breaks I recreated it in EQ5 on my laptop to see if it might be something I’d make for him.

(Full Quilt---obviously the example does not look scrappy one bit)

Well, then I started playing around with the color. Then I started playing around with the block set up. And sooner or later I got had a completely different block that made an entirely different quilt.

What do you think?

I really like the 2nd one... :) But both are very pretty!

Helovesme 06-06-2011 09:20 AM

2nd block is very cool!

I love the first one, but the second is cool too.

gunny148 06-06-2011 09:35 AM

The 2nd one is the eye catcher

erstan947 06-06-2011 09:36 AM

the quilt has 2 sides.....????? use both:)

alikat110 06-06-2011 09:36 AM

Both are cool.

AngieS 06-06-2011 09:39 AM

These are both awesome. It's neat how in the first one it looks different depending on if you are looking at the green or the tan-you eyes are seeing a different look. The same with the 2nd one....2 different looks there -look at the white then look at the black...from looking at the whole picture. Love them both!

Yep, it sure does. I think it's just so cool.

needles3thread 06-06-2011 09:41 AM

2nd one without a doubt.

Makes me want to get off board and start learning EQ7. Just watched the videos last night. Glad to see what all you can do with it.

I like both designs, but the second one better. Just a hint when looking at a full quilt in EQ. left click on the quilt and uncheck outline blocks and patches. it gives a better idea of the spaces for the same colors.

both look cool

suebee 06-06-2011 10:25 AM

dublb 06-06-2011 10:58 AM

It's amazing how these patterns look as the eye roves over 'em! I like them both!!!

clem55 06-06-2011 01:02 PM

WOW! Both are really nice.

That's what I thought too. But I love the second one!

Nettie Phillips 06-06-2011 01:07 PM

Good job. I am not creative like that.

Jennifer22206 06-06-2011 01:21 PM

I like the second one. That will be a ton of PP though, but worth it.

GreatStarter 06-06-2011 06:43 PM

I like the movement in the second one best.

mzmama 06-06-2011 06:50 PM

I like the second one, reminds me of stary, stary night.

wesing 06-06-2011 07:53 PM

I vote for the Wonky Wave, although the first block is like a Storm at Sea turned inside-out.

I like the second one. Lots of movement. I think it would make a great scrappy.

I saw fists when I first looked at it.

Grandma58 06-06-2011 08:10 PM

Interesting!

thegypsy1968 06-07-2011 03:55 AM

I really like them both..for different reasons..either one would be great..!!..It is neat how the whole picture changes ..from one to the other..thanks for sharing

TacoMama 06-07-2011 04:02 AM

It would be a hard decision to have to choose between those. I guess if you really can't decide, put a number 1 on a small piece of paper and a number 2 on another piece of paper; put them in a basket and close your eyes and pick a number!

vivoaks 06-07-2011 05:11 AM

The 2nd is my favorite one, as well. But the 1st has nothing wrong with it - it's pretty too - the 2nd is just my preference.

Normabeth 06-07-2011 05:18 AM

Hi
They are both very nice, I really like the black and white block.
Are you willing to share the directions?
Thanks
NormaBeth

sandpat 06-07-2011 05:26 AM

Very cool FV!! I like the funky tone to the 2nd one. Isn't it fun to play on EQ!

Jammin' Jane 06-07-2011 07:01 AM

Looks like you may be making one of each!!
They both look great!

Scrap Happy 06-07-2011 07:14 AM

I like them both but like the 2nd one better.

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 06-07-2011 07:18 AM

I like the second one but I think it would look cool in blues because it reminds me of waves breaking. Either one would make a great quilt.

ccb2200 06-07-2011 07:21 AM

I really like the 2nd one. It just pops.

JoanneS 06-07-2011 08:09 AM

I really like the 2nd - especially the way it doesn't just march evely across the quilt. It'll be awesome in scrappy greens.
